    When should I spray Dimension 2EW for maximum control of crabgrass and poa annua?
    I live in the central region of SC. When should I spray Dimension 2EW for maximum control of crabgrass and poa annua?

    Dimension 2EW Herbicide should be used in early spring for maximum results with poa annua and crabgrass.

    Please check out our lawn schedule for warm season grasses. This will give more insight on when fertilizers, pre-emergents, etc. should be applied.

    Is my Dimension bottle still good
    I purchase this product last year and forgot to remove it fro my garage this winte there is white build up at the bottom. My garage got very old this past winter. Do you think it's still good. Also one applied with a backpack sprayer dose it still need to be watered in. Thanks

    Dimension 2EW Herbicide has a shelf life of 5 years if stored in a cool dry area.  If you shake the bottle and it does not mix then you most likely need a new bottle.

    Can Dimension 2EW be mixed with other herbicides?
    Can I mix Dimension 2EW with 3 Way Max in order to get total weed control when I start my pre emergent application?

    Yes you can mix Dimension 2EW Herbicide and 3 Way Max Turf and Ornamental Broadleaf Herbicide to give you both pre-emergent and post-emergent control.

    Can you recommend a product that will kill mulberry weed without harming gardenias?
    Mulberry weed growing under my miniature gardenias, and it is really too much to pick. I need a product that will kill the mulberry weed without harming gardenias.
    A

    Mulberry weed is an annual weed and can be prevented with the proper timing of pre-emergent chemical. The best pre-emergent for broadleaf weeds is dithiopyr such as Dimension 2EW. It should be applied in late March and again in mid-May. If you have a huge mulberry weed population, you can make a third application in early July.

    Spot treating with something like Hi-Yield 2,4-D and/or a glyphosate based product will kill mulberry weed but care should be taken to avoid contact/drift with the gardenias as they could be injured as well.

    Key is to kill or pull the weed before it drops the seeds, which the plant does a few weeks after germination.  There is an article by UGA here that might help.

    Can I apply Dimension 2EW before several days of forecasted rain?
    A

    The manufacturer recommends to water in Dimension 2EW inside 24 hours after application so it would be best if you apply it the day before rain is expected if you do not manually water the product in.

    Is Dimension 2EW a good pre-emergent liquid to apply on my fescue lawn to prevent winter weeds?

    Dimension 2EW would be great as a pre emergent on fescue grass. Dimension 2EW herbicide provides preemergence and early postemergence control of crabgrass, and season-long control of crabgrass, goosegrass, foxtail, spurge and bluegrass annual. Please consult the product label for application.

    Is Dimension 2EW Herbicide effective against Japanese stiltgrass?
    A

    While Dimension 2EW Herbicide can prevent japanese stiltgrass when used according to label instructions, it would not control existing stiltgrass. Most applications for prevention will need to be made spring and fall for 2 years to prevent seeds that can lay dormant in the soil over time.

    Is Dimension 2EW suitable for lawns with established fruit trees?
    I'm in north Florida and have several established citrus and fig trees. Is this product okay to use on my lawn around them without making the fruit from these trees unsafe to eat?

    Dimension 2EW should not be applied within the drip line of any fruit trees. Also, the label does state that if your lawn is treated with Dimension 2EW, the grass clippings should not be left around the fruit trees.

    What do you have in the way of pre-emergent specifically for Bermuda grass?
    A
    Our two most popular pre-emergents for use on established Bermuda grass are Dimension 2EW and Barricade 65WG. Both products do a great job but we recommend checking out the product label on each product to so see which one is labeled to target the weeds you usually have issues with. The product labels are available at each of the links provided in this answer.

    Is there any benefit to alternating Barricade and Dimensions2EW every other month in North Carolina foothills?
    We have had much difficulty controlling crabgrass and dallis grass. I understand they are different. Just looking for the best combination of pre-emergents.
    A
    Barricade and Dimension are actually in the same class of herbicides which means they work with the same mode of action and there would be no benefit to switching between them. We would recommend Barricade because it lasts longer and you will get great control with just Barricade. If you have current weeds (though you should be ahead of the game at this date) try Monument, it will do a great job.

    Is Dimension 2EW safe for penncross2 creeping bentgrass used on my home putting green?
    A

    While creeping bentgrass is listed as a tolerable turf grass, the product label for Dimension 2EW actually states that not all varieties of creeping bentgrass have been tested. It also says do not apply to golf course putting greens, so we are unable to advise that it could safely be used on your home putting green.  We would recommend confirming with the manufacturer directly to be sure.  Dow AgroSciences can be reached at 800-992-5994.

    Dimension 2EW seems to clog up my sprayer when water is cold. Any suggestions?

    Typically you want to mix your Dimension 2EW or any chemical with room temp water or something close to that. Cold water can often cause products to have trouble emulsifying into solution.

    Can Dimension be mixed with Drive XLR8?
    I live in Minnesota and have a crab grass issue. Can I mix Dimension and Drive and apply at the same time? Also, would a surfactant be beneficial to use or even possible with the combination?

    As long as you do a tank mix test first to ensure no clumping or adverse effects occur in tank, you can mix both products together to acheive both pre and post emergent control of crabgrass. Since the Drive XLR8 requires the use of a surfactant you can mix that into the tank as well.

    What is the best Pre Emergent for crabgrass control in Fescue lawn?
    A

    Dimension 2EW Herbicide is going to be the best pre emergent product when controlling crabgrass. It is labeled to be used in Fescue lawns and can even be applied at a ratio to work as a post emergent.You will use .28-.73 fl oz. per 1000 sq. feet or .75-2 pints per acre. For your 2.5 acre property, 1.875-5 pints will be used to cover the entire area. Please read label for further instruction.

    Surfactant?
    The directions say ounces is that weight or volume measure? I assume volume because we are dealing with a liquid but I thought is ask to be sure. Thank you. Also, would I apply Dimension with a surfactant? Can you recommend a fan-pattern nozzle to apply Dimension? I am uncertain what rate per minute is best for applying herbicides on lawns (I only use my sprayer on my lawn)

    In general an ounce of liquid is a measure of volume and an ounce of a solid is a measure of weight. Yes, it is recommended to mix Dimension 2EW with a surfactant which may improve control. Most nozzels are only compatable with the same manufacturer as the sprayers and since I am not sure what Brand and model sprayer you have I am unable to recommend a suitable fan spray nozzel. Also, herbicides do not give a water amount.  They only tell you how much of the product to apply over 1000 square feet.  The amount of water is dependent on how ever much water it takes for you to walk 1000 square feet.  Whether you place the amount of product per 1000 square feet in a gallon of water or 10 gallons of water, it does not matter, just as long as that amount of product is distributed over the 1000 square feet.

    Is runoff from Dimension 2EW Herbicide toxic to horses?
    Need something to kill the grass before it comes up this year that will not harm the horses. Any suggestions?

    Dimension 2EW Herbicide is not labeled to be used in areas animals would graze so we cannot recommend it be used in the area.  We actually do not have any pre-emergents for grassy weeds in pastures and would recommend contacting your local department of ag for assistance identifying the target weed and for a product recommendation.  We can then see if we can get the product.

    Yes, buffalograss is listed on the Dimension 2EW Herbicide product label as tolerable with a note: Do not use this product on seedling buffalograss in the spring of the first year of establishment until the turfgrass is fully green and has established new roots
