Dismiss Turf is meant more for nutsedge control in turf grass and it CANNOT be used in or near a vegetable garden or anything edible. The main product used for weeds in a vegetable garden is a RoundUp type product, like our RoundUp QuickPro product. RoundUp Professional products do not leave a residual in the soil that could possibly be soaked up by the roots of your garden. Of course you do not want to get the RoundUp on any plants you want to keep. You should only direct it at the weeds you want to eliminate.

Dismiss Turf? is absorbed through the foliage and into the root system. It will kill the root of Star of Bethlehem. According to the Dismiss Turf product label, you can reapply the Dismiss 35 days after the first application to ensure no harm to your lawn and acheive better control of the hearty weeds in the lawn. However, you want to be sure that you are applying your products at the optimal time for the weeds you are targeting. If not, the product will only supress the Star of Bethlehem and not get rid of it entirely.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is a great wide range post emergent herbicide that will control lespedeza as well as clover, nutsedge, spurge, and many more. Dismiss is safe to use on Centipede lawns and is used at a rate of 0.18 - 0.275 oz per 1000 sq/ft in 1-2 gallons of water. You can prevent lespedeza and other grassy and broadleaf weeds by applying a pre emergent like Dimension 2EW to your lawn fall and spring of each year before weeds germinate.
You should delay your application of Dismiss Turf Herbicide or other herbicide until at least 2-3 days after you mow. This will help your turfgrass to recover from the stress of mowing as well as allow time for some new growth on the target weeds so there is more foliage to absorb the herbicide.
You can use Dismiss Turf Herbicide on Bermudagrass and hybrid Bermudagrass for control of nutsedge and other listed weeds. Be sure to follow the rates and other precautions on the full product label.
For smaller lawns, Sedgehammer + is another option.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide comes in a bottle that contains 6.0 ounces of concentrate, which will cover 0.5 to 1.25 acres, depending on the weeds you are treating and the turf. Many professional herbicides will come in a size that will cover an average of one Acre (43,560 sq ft). It is important to keep in mind that your water is just a carrier, and how much water is needed to get uniform coverage will vary with your equipment and the speed at which it is moving. Therefore, it is hard to estimate exactly how many gallons of water will be used when you are covering a large area. You can break down the rate of 4-12 ounces per Acre to 0.092 to 0.275 ounces per 1,000 square feet, using adequate water to get thorough coverage of the area using your equipment.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is formulated for cool and warm season turf as directed on the product label. It is safe to use on St Augustine.
Dismiss Turf Herbicide is made to control nutsedge and other listed weeds in turfgrass but it is not labeled for use on landscape ornamentals. When treating for nutsedge around ornamentals, most of the time you will have to spot treat where the sedge is coming up with a glyphosate product like RoundUp QuikPro.
