    Q
We have purchased Propiconazole 14.3 (Fungicide). Can this be mixed with Dismiss?
    A

The Dismiss Turf Herbicide product label states that it is compatible with most herbicides and fungicides commonly used in turf and ornamental plant management.  That being said, we suggest you do a jar test first, to make sure the products are compatible, and be sure to follow the label instructions for each product.

  • Asked by Ng from Atlanta, Ga

    Q
What is the best way to use Dismiss Turf Herbicide to control mallow and lespedeza in bermuda?
    A

It is important to keep in mind that your water is just a carrier, and how much water is needed to get uniform coverage will vary with your equipment and the speed at which it is moving. Therefore, it is hard to estimate exactly how many gallons of water will be used when you are covering a large area with the Dismiss Turf Herbicide. You can break down the rate to 0.18 to 0.275 ounces per 1,000 square feet, using adequate water to get thorough coverage of the area using your equipment.

Will this product work in my 14 acre pasture? If so, approximately how much will I need?
Using a boom sprayer behind 4 wheeler.

Dismiss Turf Herbicide is not labeled for use in pastures with grazing livestock.  Consider using GrazonNext Herbicide for that type of application.

  • Asked by Rexlo from Hackensack, Nj
    07/31/2018
    Q
How long after applying Dismiss Turf Herbicide can I overseed the lawn?
    A

Per the Dismiss Turf Herbicide product label: Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. Overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass at two (2) to four (4) weeks after an application can be done if slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated.

I am having difficulty controlling nutsedge in my flower beds. Will Dismiss Turf Herbicide hurt ornamentals?
    A

Dismiss Turf Herbicide is made to control nutsedge in turfgrass but it is not labeled for use on ornamentals. When treating for nutsedge around ornamentals, most of the time you will have to spot treat where the sedge is coming up with a glyphosate product such as Glyphosel Pro.

  • Asked by Julio from Splendora, Tx
    01/14/2019
    Q
What time of the year near Houston, TX should I use Dismiss Turf Herbicide for nutsedge and broadleaf weed control in centipede?
I seeded last year towards end of summer and wanted to start knocking down these weeds before early spring if possible. I will also be overseeding a little bit more centipede.
    A

You should not use Dismiss Turf Herbicide in temperatures above 85 degrees or below freezing. Weeds must be actively growing for Dismiss to work properly. Be sure to read the Dismiss product label for complete usage instructions. Per the product label : Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses.

    Q
I have excessive henbit growth in my back yard. Would Dismiss Turf Herbicide kill it?
My yard is a mix of Fescue and Bermuda, which is spreading from my neighbors lawn. It's early February and the weeds are popping up everywhere. My back yard measures approx 1/3 acre. Would a selective herbicide be best or do you recommend a weed and feed?
    A

Dismiss Turf Herbicide is labeled to kill Henbit and labeled safe for fescue and Bermudagrass. It's a post-emergent and will kill the weeds that are already popping up. For better control of Henbit, you can make a pre-emergent application using Prodiamine 65 WDG in the summer, fall or winter before weed seeds germinate.

  • Asked by John from Vero Beach, Fl
    11/03/2020
    Q
How much Dismiss Turf should be used for 100 gallon tank mix?
    A

The application rate for Dismiss Turf Herbicide will depend on your grass type. The rate for cool seasons grasses is 0.092-0.18 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft or 4-8 oz per acre and 0.18-0.275 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft or 8-12 oz per acre for warm season grasses.

In order to determine the amount of water you will need to use in your 100 gal tank you will need to mark off a 1,000 sq ft area and go over that area with just water. You will then need to do the math to determine how much water will cover your entire area you are planning to treat and determine the amount of product used for your grass type. For example, if it takes 2 gallons of water to cover 1,000 sq ft and you have a cool season grass and you are planning to treat 5,000 sq ft you will need to use 0.46-0.9 fl oz in 10 gallons of water to cover the entire 5,000 sq ft.
