outstanding product used it before. We have owned Alpine Lawn Care & Landscaping Solutions for 23 years . We were licensed applicators for many years. We use vendors now to do our properties. I like dismiss ,and sure guard ,and we buy these products from Do My Own when we have weed problems that have to be addressed right away like yellow nutedge issues

I'm impressed with this product
By Susan on 09/04/2020
We are new to this area and was at a loss for killing weeds in fairly new sod and heat. This product worked wonders on the nutsedge and did not kill the good grass. My lawn is filling in better now the weeds are gone. My only complaint was the lack of information included in the instructions for first time users. I went online and watched a video on application.
Great product
By Christopher on 01/27/2018
Been going through so many products from home depot and more for getting rid of weeds but ending killing the grass as well . My lawn was in pretty bad shape, came across a video on youtube from a gardener using " dismiss" product, figured at that point it would hurt to try. Spayed it on all weeds spots and within 3 days, they started to die and not the grass ! Awsome product !! Definitely recommend it !!

Very Pleased

Newly seeded centipede lawn from May planting. Some are mature with runners already spreading while late seed germination in other areas with sprigs being quite young. I sprayed while knowing the risk of high temps and humidity here in Texas. Temps were 91 degrees and with this in mind I mixed .180 per 2gal of water for 1000 square ft. In all fairness of this review I also mixed along with it .5 oz of Vantange grass killer since the Dismiss is mainly for broadleaf and nut sedge. Within 48hrs of spraying, the temps begin hovering around 94 degrees and everything in my yard either turned completely brown or sickly green color (mature centipede) and I seriously thought I'd just killed centipede grass and all. Its now been four days later and even the young centipede sprigs is regrowing new blades while the mature grass is rebounding aswell. Nut sedge and along with probably 10 other weeds and junk grass is gone. There is one type of clover that's still hanging on but showing signs of damage, another reviewer mentioned it took 3 weeks for some type of clover to finally die so we shall see. Now that my centipede is rebounding, it should have free growing space with none of the others weeds no longer smothering it. I won't be debating whether to go with cheaper products for nut sedge. Dismiss doesn't mess around and works extremely fast.

Dismiss Turf Herbicide
By Dan on 06/08/2011
I cannot rate this product, because I am in the process of using it. The product appears to be working, but takes longer than I first thought. I am into the second week of killing nutsedge. I believe the product works, but I still have nutsedge, although it appears to be dying. I have applied the product a second time.

A product that works
By Bill on 09/04/2017
Once the correct amount of product to water was established ie., tsp./gal. vs. product/acre from the instructions, it was straight forward. The nutsedge started showing signs of dying within 24 hours and was completely dead in a week without killing the grass. A product that works as advertised!

Works!
By William on 06/05/2020
I used a pump sprayer to spray nutsedge in a bermuda grass yard. Good browning in 48 hours, gone in a week. No damage or discoloring of the bermuda grass. Dismiss is a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny if you want rid of nutsedge without damaging your lawn.

It works!
By Sam on 06/19/2018
Does everything FMC says it does, in 24-48 hrs. weeds weaken and turn yellow. St Augustine turned a little yellow also but has started to come back. May have mixed a little strong, may be a lil pricey, but does an excellent job!

Dismiss versus Sedgehammer
By Eldred on 07/05/2022
I have a BAD infestation of nutsedge, and have had for 30 years. I've used both Sedgehammer and Dismiss. The Dismiss works, in my opinion, at LEAST 10 times better than Sedgehammer. My only wish was that Dismiss did a better job of PERMANENTLY ridding my lawn of this pest "grass" (more like weed!). Maybe new seeds just find their way to my lawn each year, but however it happens, I get a new infestation EVERY year. And I'm out their with my 1 gallon hand pump sprayer getting it killed. :)

The must have product for controlling sedge
By George on 08/31/2018
I bought it for killing sedge in Augustine grass. Does an excellent job of discriminating between grass and weed. You will see the effect within 24 hrs. Does not effect most landscape bush foliage. Excellent product. They could improve on explaining how to use the measuring cup. At first I couldn't get the concentrate to fill the cup very well until I discovered a trick. I noticed in other comments that this was a common problem left unexplained by DIMISS or your websites answers to questions. You must leave the measuring cup cap slightly loose for a trickle of air release in order for the concentrate to gush up.

Kills Kyllinga.
By Hans on 09/18/2020
My backyard had an infestation of Kyllinga and nutsedge. Also had smaller patches of clover, creeping charlie, and mats of low-lying weeds with small purple flowers. I initially tried Sedgekiller which killed the nutsedge but left everything else including the Kyllinga untouched. I used Dismiss next and it does an amazing job on the Kyllinga. Every patch I sprayed started to turn brown in 2-3 days and has stayed that way for the past month. I didn't notice my Bermuda getting burned by the Dismiss. The other weeds listed also turned brown at a slower rate. I mixed 2 gallons on my first application and only needed 1 gallon on my second application looking for new areas of Kyllinga that had grown in a month. The bottle comes with a plastic screw-on measuring cup and it's easy to mix 1 gallon to spray.

Excellent for nutsedge
By Jake on 05/31/2020
For all the people with bad reviews, they probably have no idea to apply this properly. It does NOT work as well as a spot spray for nutsedge as it is mostly soil active. What this means is if you spot spray more nutsedge can pop up right next door. Read the label, it recommends 2 applications about 35 days apart. I sprayed mine in March and all my nutsedge from last year died upon sprouting. NO it is not great on alot of other weeds like dandelion, but super cheap 24d works better for that. It controls spurge and nutsedge which are two of the hardest weeds to control. I blanket spray only.

Great Product
By Mark on 09/08/2018
I live in Palm Harbor,FL and this product works AWESOME on sedge in St.Augustine grass. I applied at the lowest rate because I was concerned about damaging the good grass. It turned the sedge brown in 24-48 hrs and destroyed it after about a week. Virtually no damage to good grass. I had one small area with very minor tip browning but it was gone after I mowed and the grass is in great shape.

Killed everything I had
By T on 08/21/2014
.18 oz per 1000 sq ft no more. Zoysia Emerald was a little stressed only in the areas I over sprayed. In all the heat now in north florida I feel it worked perfect. Goose grass nutsedge and all the weeds I have are dying. Also the measuring device made it easy to pour out .180 oz without having to worry about spillage. Perfect and great service from domyownpestcontrol thanks

Sedge knock out
By Brian on 08/28/2015
2 days after treatment my yard was 50 shades of brown. Sedge fully browned out. Some crabgrass died but most is still green and thriving. Most of the other weeds wilted over and 2 weeks later I now have large sections of my yard with no vegetation. I expected this as those sections had no grass. Stage 2 is transplanting the hybrid Bermuda to those bare spots. 4 stars for product, would have been 5 but so expensive. Took an entire bottle to treat .81 acres.

not killing purple nutsedge
By Keith on 10/16/2017
I have purple nutsedge that is growing up through artificial turf that I had put down. I have sprayed it weekly every Friday for six straight weeks now & it is still coming back although seems to be slowing down somewhat. I will say that after the spray, it looks completely dead within a couple days. By the end of the week, however, I can see fresh growth coming up. I spray it & the cycle repeats itself so I'm now looking at my 7th application in as many weeks. For the cost, I was hoping this would be the solution I was after but it is not.

Nutsedge is gone and Good Grass Remains
By Steve on 09/08/2018
Based on the reviews I bought the product and it is worth every penny. The Nutsedge yellowed and wilted just like everyone said—24 hours. Stuff will be easy to remove with a thatch rake and seed over this fall after aeration. That bottle goes a long way and I recommend using the blue dye to ensure you don't miss any when spot treating with a backpack sprayer. I am in Jersey Northwest on just over an acre and the stuff popped up everywhere this year. Highly recommend. Do My Own is outstanding !
