Andrea from Camarillo, Ca writes

Do ants develop resistance to Advion Ant Gel?

I have been using Advion ant gel successfully for 3-5 years now. In our recent infestation I have been baiting indoors for almost 3 weeks, but the ants just keep on coming. They mob the stuff, disappear for a day or two, then come back. Could they have become resistant? If so, do you recommend something else to rotate to?

Answer:

Ants generally look for either a sugar or a protein food source. Advion Ant Bait Gel is a sugar. We always recommend using something like Advance 375A Select Granular Bait in conjunction with the sugar bait. This will take care of both of their food sources. Please check out our Ant Guide as well for tips on how to prevent and treat for ants.  Bait aversion is more common than bait resistance.
