Do the ends of the jaws actually come together to pick-up remote objects on the Tomahawk 311S?

Answer:

The ends of the jaws do come together on the Tomahawk 311S, but it is just the ends. Not the middle part so objects may fall out.  They are more for use in grasping animals safely
