Jim from Aiken, Sc writes

Does Barricade 4FL Pre-Emergent Herbicide (Prodiamine) prevent chamberbitter?

I have a chamberbitter infestation in Bermudagrass, Sandy soil, Aiken, SC. What is best time to apply and will one treatment last in Sandy soil?

Answer:

Barricade 4FL Pre-Emergent Herbicide (Prodiamine) is not labeled for pre emergent control chamberbitter. Barricade 4L can be used and sandy soil and last for the standard time frame of 3-4 months. View our Chamberbitter Treatment Guide for more information.  Pre emergents are best applied in late fall when soil temps drop to 70 degrees and then again in early spring when soil temps rise to just under 55 degrees. Please view our Lawn Care Schedule Calendar for timing recommendations or contact your Cooperative Extension Office for exact timing recommendations in your area.
