Does Phantom contain pyrethroids/permethrin?

I have two indoor cats, one with asthma, and I know that permethrin is highly toxic to felines. I don't feel that it is safe to use even if instructions are followed. Please advise.

Answer:

Phantom does not contain permethrin or any other synthetic pyrethroids. The active ingredient in Phantom is Chlorfenapyr which is from a different class of insecticides known as pyrrole. When applying Phantom (or any other insecticide) all pets should be removed from the area and they should not return until the area is completely dry and vented. Most insecticides only cause issues for felines when the animal is allowed to have contact with treated areas while they are still wet. In any case if your cat has specific issues we highly recommend that you consult with the animals veterinarian before applying any insecticides.
