    Q
Can Dominion 2L be used to kill Pharaoh ants?
    A

Per the label, Dominion 2L Termiticide can not be used to treat Pharaoh ants. We do carry several ant baits that  are labeled for Pharaoh ants. We recommend you offer both a gel bait such as Advion as well as a granule bait such as Advance 375A.  Offering both baits will ensure the ants have their nutritional needs met and at least one of the baits will be accepted.

    Q
What can I use in Massachusetts to spray around the outside of my home to ward off carpenter ants?
    A

Our most popular product for outdoor carpenter ant control is our Carpenter Ant Kit #2.  It comes with a product called Dominion 2L which is strictly for outside control of carpenter ants and is a phenomenal product.  The kit also comes with some bait to place in the structure if you ever have any issues inside.

    Q
How many gallons of diluted Dominion 2L I should use per acre?
I have purchased a bottle of Dominion 2L to use in place of Merit granules. I understand the mixing rates but was wondering how many gallons of mix I should use per acre? I was also wondering if I spray now to control ants and such, would I be able to spray again at the end of June to control grubs?
    A
Dominion 2L is labeled for ants but not as a broadcast spray over a large area such as an acre.  For ant control it is recommended to apply around the house or around whatever structure you are trying to keep them out of.  Dominion is not labeled to treat fire ants or other nesting ants in your yard.  For Chinch bugs you would use one bottle per acre, or about 1 gallon of mixed solution per 1000 square feet.  It would be ok to treat now and then again later for grubs, but again it would not be recommended to treat the entire yard for both.

    Q
How does Dominion 2L compare to Talstar P for Red Carpenter ants?
I bought Talstar from you and you have a great service. I sprayed once but still find Florida Red Carpenter ants outside. I did perimeters within perimeters to box them in. I looked for their trails and sprayed them. Did area at base of house all around as directed. Dominion 2L is non-repellant so maybe it is a better choice. Carpenter ants are so smart.
    A

Talstar P will kill ants that come in contact with it, but will not eradicate them. Dominion 2L sprayed around the outside perimeter of the structure will. You should mix .6 fluid oz. per gallon of water to treat for carpenter ants. This will give you approximately 1000 sq. feet of treatment. Please see our Carpenter Ant Treatment Guide for more information and tips about treating for carpenter ants.

    Q
Does Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate work on Argentine ants?
I have lines of these ants on my property and want to get rid of them..
    A

Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate is not labeled for argentine ants.  If you need to treat around the outside of your home, we would suggest a product like Termidor SC.   Maxforce Quantum Ant Bait would be a good choice if you need to treat indoors.

  • Asked by Bill from Gilbert, Az

    Q
Can Dominion be sprayed in the same area where general pesticides like Suspend are sprayed?
For example, if I spray Dominion on the exterior perimeter, can I also spray Suspend over the same area already treated with Dominion? Does timing or order matter? Can one be sprayed immediately after spraying the other? Is it better to spray one before the other? I am having problems with ants and spiders, so want to make sure I do what is most effective.
    A
Dominion is a non-repellent, which means you should not mix it with another product or it will not work properly.  Since Dominion is much more effective on ants and cannot be applied over anything else, you should apply the Dominion first and wait about 3 to 4 weeks until all ant activity is gone, and then apply Suspend for everything else including the spiders.  Only apply the Dominion again when ants are present in the area.
