    Q
I am treating a pole barn for termites. It has tin siding, where should i trench?
Could I just dig a trench around the wooden poles and treat that area or do I need to treat the entire distance around the outside and with dirt floor treat the inside also. I have seen several termites on wood while doing matience work on the pole barn. It is just a storage barn. But I do want to get rid of the termites.
    A
You really only need to be concerned about the wood.  So this means you should only trench and treat around the poles in the ground.  You do not have to trench around the tin if there is no other wood in close proximity. Please see our Termite Treatment Article.

Please find our article Barrier and Soil Treatments for Termites. This article explains in depth the termite treatment using a trench. You may want to use Bayer Advanced 12 Month. This product is labeled to treat all of the pest you listed and lasts for 12 months.

    Q
Is it necessary to trench in crawl space if I trenched exterior and used Dominion 2L in ground?
We trenched the entire exterior and used Dominion 2L. I don't think it is possible to trench in crawl space....any other options to protect the house/kill termites in sill plates? I was thinking about injecting foam into sites where we find soft wood. I have some Dominion left, can I inject that? If so, how? Thank you!
    A
If you have used Dominion 2L, and you are able to trench inside the crawl space, you should do so. You should also trench around any piers under the house that have contact with the soil. You can apply Dominion 2L as a liquid or as a foam into areas of active infestation to spot treat. Keep in mind that damage without any live termites could be old and no longer an active site.

    Q
How do I treat my house with Dominion 2L?
There is a deck in the back of my house therefore I cannot trench. The front of the house is cement and I cannot drill, but I am able to crawl inside under the house. Can I just spray dominion around the concrete block of my house and let it drip down to the soil, or can I just spray on the wood bolt to the concert block since I saw tunnel from the soil up the block to the wood?
    A
Dominion 2L and all other termiticides have to go into the ground by digging a trench or by drilling holes.  Dominion 2L will not last on wood or concrete, so it does not good to just spray it on these surfaces.  Also, spraying on top of the soil does not work because termites do not walk on top of the ground, they enter a home from under the ground.  Are the boards in the back of your house running parallel to the house?  If so, you can remove two rows and trench and then replace them.  You should dig a trench in the crawl space and place the product in the trench and also trench and treat around the piers.  However, most termites enter the home from the outside perimeter, so you can very likely get termites from the outside if you do not do some sort of treatment outside.

    Q
How long does the product last after performing a solid drench? Should it be reapplied every 30, 60, 90 days?
The target pest is aphids. Let's assume there is kill off and you want to keep the tree free from the pest.
    A
When using Dominion 2L Termiticide as a soil drench for trees and shrubs it should last for a full 12 months, however, if you have a heavy pest problem you can retreat the soil after 6 months.

    Q
How much water is needed when applying Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate as a soil drench to treat Lacebug on Azaleas?
The mix rate is 0.1 fl oz to 0.2 fl oz per foot of shrub height, but how much water?
    A

When applying Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate as a drench around the base of the shrubs/bushes in no less than 10 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Direct application to the root area is best.

    Q
How do I treat a house on blocks with Dominion 2L Termiticide?
    A

You would perform a termite treatment the same way as with other structures when using Dominion 2L Termiticide or other similar products. You would still trench around the foundation and apply 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet in a trench 6 in x 6 in. If you can access the crawl space, then you should also trench the interior at the same rate, and you would treat around any piers there. If you see evidence of live termite activity, then you can also drill into the hollow block to treat inside it. You could then seal the holes with Trebor plugs. You can view more information in our Termite Treatment Guide.

    Q
I want to use Dominion 2L as a spray on Crape Myrtles. How much Dominion 2L should I use per gallon of water?
How much Dominion 2L per gallon of water?
    A
You did not mention what type of pests you are trying to treat or if you wanted to do a foliar spray or a soil drench on your Crape Myrtles. If you want to do a foliar application you will need to use about .45 ML per gallon of water. If you want to do a soil drench you will need 3 to 6 ml of Dominion 2L per inch of trunk diameter. You can use 1 pint - 1 gallon of water per inch of trunk diameter to mix the product in, depending on the water volume that is easiest for you to work with and can still be accepted by the soil. You can find more information on these treatments by reading the Dominion 2L product label starting on page 8.

    Q
Does Dominion 2L treat crepe myrtle scale?
Black debris on trees from scale. I see it in our area everywhere on crepe myrtles. Mine have it, too. How do I use this? Does protective gear includes a special mask? Can I use it in same container that I use for other products. I'd rather not spray this, so root application to drip line? I watched the film, but want to be safe!
    A

You can use Dominion 2L insecticide to treat scale on your crepe myrtle trees. You would apply this as a drench around the root system of each tree while the trees are actively growing. This is typically done in spring after petal fall. You would use 0.1 – 0.4 oz of Dominion 2L per inch of trunk diameter at breast height diluted in water in a bucket or watering can and poured around the base of each tree. We generally recommend that you pair a soil drench with a topical spray such as a horticultural oil or a pyrethroid such as Talstar P for fastest results when treating for scale.
