    Q
Will Dominion 2L get rid of moles?
My yard has now had a mole problem for at least 3-4 years. I have tried using the Talpirid worms and this did not have a lasting effect. I have a small dog so I would be concerned of any product that could potentially be harmful to her. I had someone suggest spraying the Dominion on the yard and letting it soak down into the soil. Please let me know if this would cause harm to any other landscaping.
    A

Dominion 2L Termiticide is labeled t ocontrol grubs that moles feed on buit will not eliminate moles completely.  Trapping and baiting are the two most effective methods for mole control.  Please refer to our guide on How to Get Rid of Moles for further information and product recommendations on eliminating the moles in your yard.

    Q
It is now February, can apply Dominion 2L to treat grubs in my St Augustine lawn near a Mango Tree that fruit is starting to grow? Would this affect the fruit and how many ounces per gallon/per 1000 sq ft would be needed?
    A

Dominion 2L Termiticide does not list mango trees as a tolerant fruit tree acceptable for application. Dominion 2L can be used to treat grubs in the lawn areas outside the canopy/drip line of the mango tree as if the application is abosorbed through the root zone, the fruit would unable to be harvested for year.

We would generally recommend Milky Spore Powder for treating grubs in lawns, ornamentals, around edibles, fruit, nut trees however this product is restricted to be shipped to the State of Florida.

Please review our How to Get Rid of Grubs for more information on eliminating this pest.

    Q
Is Imidacloprid dangerous to Earthworms when applied to the soil as a systemic on turf?
I am applying Imidacloprid in mid-Summer to treat for grub larvae. I don't want to adversely affect the underlying earthworms in the lawn's soil
    A

Earthworms have a protective mucous on their bodies that helps protect them from pesticides and they live well below the surface of the soil and pesticides cannot penetrate that far down to be effective. The active ingredient in Dominion 2L Termiticide Imidacloprid only has been shown to have acute toxicity to earthworms. In no case did a long term effect on earthworm populations occur, so this product will not harm the earthworms on your property.

    Q
How far away from water can the Dominion 2L Termiticide treatment be performed?
Maybe a footage answer if there is one.
    A

Since the Dominion 2L Termiticide has a long soil residual, we do not recommend using this product within at least 25 feet of a body of water such as pond, lake, stream, etc. You should not apply this product where the water table is very shallow or to soil that is too saturated to accept the product. Also avoid areas where runoff can occur and displace the treated soil.

    Q
Why do you not have Dominion 2L Termiticide classified for indoor use of ants?
Clearly it says you can apply inside for "ants" doesn't specify the species, Unless you are looking at WDO portion? It also clearly says Spot crack and crevice on the inside. ( Look in Perimeter pest control)
    A

Dominion 2L Termiticide is not labeled for use indoors except to spot treat where there are live termite infestations. The Perimeter Pest instructions are for outdoor use only.

    Q
Is Dominion 2L safe to be applied in a livestock pasture to treat a large colony and mounds of Cutter Ants? There is an area bout 20ft in circumference I need to treat.
    A

We recommend that you consult with your local agricultural department to see what they recommend for use in livestock pastures for cutter ants. Dominion 2L Termiticide cannot be used in pastures for cutter ants and It does not look like there is much on the market for this use.

    Q
Will Dominion 2L kill thrips on roses?
Systemically will it reach the rose buds? Those suckers feast on the flowering parts.
    A

The Dominion 2L can be used as a systemic application to roses and other plants for thrips and it would do a great job. If you have a heavy population of them though, you may find that you need to do a foliar application  to the buds while the systemic makes its way through the plant to eliminate them and protect them for the rest of the season. Products like Talstar P are often used in this instance to spray where they are currently damaging the plants and provide residual control for a month or so on the surface. If you use the Dominion, you would apply at the rate of 0.2-0.4 oz per foot of shrub height in roughly 1-2 gallons of water based on your rose bush size.

    Q
Where can we buy chemical injector system to us with dominion 2l?
    A
We recommend using a 5 gallon bucket or hand pump sprayers to apply Dominion 2L as a termite treatment around a home.  We do not feel it is worth it to buy a $2500 tank system for a one time treatment as a homeowner.  It is actually quite simple to apply the Dominion as a homeowner as outlined in our How To Do A Termite Treatment Article

    Q
What is the reason Dominion 2L is not sold to New York?
Why is it not sold to New York? Is it because it is sold to commercial applicators only, or is it not registered with New York state?
    A
It is a state specific law that prevents us from shipping certain products to New York. Dominion 2L does not appear to be registered for use in New York. We do have a link to New York products that are permissible for us to ship.

    Q
I bought a mobile home. 1/2 of it's on a small crawl , the other 1/2 is on a slab. How do I apply Termiticide?
    A
You should follow the instructions as outlined in our How to do a Termite Treatment article.  It explains about how to treat around the outside of the perimeter of the structure by trenching where the dirt comes up to the home and drilling if there is concrete next to the home.  Then, you should go underneath the crawl space and trench around the piers under supporting the structure.  It is all explained in further detail in the article.  If you still have any questions, you can call us at 866-581-7378 and we will be happy to help you.

    Q
Can you explain how to apply Dominion 2L in a trench?
I read your article "How To Do A Termite Treatment" and got confused because I was under the impression that if I have a 30 ft long side of the house, I'd need to trench 4 6x6 holes (2 in the corners and 2 in between so that they're 10 linear feet from each other) and applying a total of 40 gallons of mixed Dominion 2L solution (10 gallons per hole). You suggested trenching only 1 hole and filling it with 30 gallons of solution. As I can imagine, doing it "my way" will provide with no-gap treatment along the side of the house without going deep; whereas "your way" will go deep (3 ft in depth since 10 gallons need to be applied per 1 foot of depth per product label) but not wide. Could you please clarify the issue with the holes and the depth? Thank you in advance!!!
    A
You will need to dig one long continuous trench that is 6 inches wide by 6 inches deep right up against the foundation of your home. You will then mark the trench off in 10 ft segments. For every 10 feet of trench you will then apply 4 gallons of diluted Dominion 2L. This is how all professional companies apply the product and this is how the product label specifies applying the product. (Please read the last paragraph on page 4 of the Dominion product label)

    Q
Is Dominion 2L termite strength at .05% or does it need to be .1% concentration?
Your product description says makes 50 gallons of finished product but product label says .05% for standard termite control which will make 100 gallons.
    A
We always recommend using Dominion 2L at the 1% rate.  This will ensure it kills the termites quicker and will last longer in the soil when mixed at the higher concentration.  You can use it at the lower rate of 5% if you want to, it is still permissible to do so, but our customers have received best results when using the product at a 1% solution.

    Q
I have pea gravel beds that come up to the foundation. How should they be treated?
    A
We assume you are asking about treating them for a termite treatment?  If so, you would have to remove at least 6 to 8 inches of pea gravel next to the foundation.  After pouring in 4 gallons per 10 feet as instructed in the How To Do A Termite Treatment Article, you would be advised to purchase some top soil and fill the trench back in at least a few inches before filling the rest up with pea gravel.  The top soil you place back in the trench should be treated as well.

    Q
Can Dominion 2L be used as ground defense around fruit trees?
I want to protect my new fruit trees (apple, apricot, blueberry, and cherry) from subterranean termites and black carpenter ants. Can I use the trench perimeter method to protect my fruit tree and still be safe eating the fruit? How far away should the trench be from the base of the tree?
    A
Dominion 2L cannot be used in the manner you have described. Carpenter ants and termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a ground barrier around the trees. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the entomologist or master gardener on staff or contact your local agricultural department for more information.

    Q
Can Dominion 2L be injected under slab in a area that was wet from a leaking pipe?
An under slab pipe leak caused termite infestation in the center of my home. Can dominion 2L be injected through bore holes in slab safely and will it damage copper pipes in the soil under the slab?
    A
Dominion 2L can definitely be used underneath slabs and applied through drill holes.  It is used in this fashion all of the time.  It will not harm any pipes at all, copper or plastic.  It will last for 7 years in the ground.

    Q
    Bifen IT or Dominion 2L?
What would you use to spray soil under swimming pool to protect liner from termite damage and why?
    A
We would definitely recommend Dominion 2L.  Dominion is a non-repellent so any termites that try to get to the pool liner will walk through the barrier and carry the product back to the colony and eliminate the colony for good so they are no longer an issue.  Bifen IT is an older repellent product, meaning it doesn't kill the colony.  It repels the termites somewhere else.  Downside to this is if one area under your pool wears out first, the termites can find it and do damage in that area.  Also, Dominion 2L will last about 2 years longer than Bifen IT will in the ground.
