No, Drexel Imitator Plus is strictly a non selective post emergent that kills what is sprayed. It will not offer any pre-emergent control.
You can use 2 oz of Drexel Imitator Plus per gallon of water.
You would need to refer to the product label for the Drexel Imitator, not go by the Drexel Imitator Plus as it has a higher percentage of active. You can find it on the manufacturers site here if it is the Imitator DA or you can check directly with the manufacturer on their site for the product that matches yours.
Drexel Imitator Plus is labeled to treat cattails. You will use 2 oz per gallon of water. Please see the label for complete application instructions.
How fast you drive when applying an herbicide like Drexel Imitator Plus will depend on the output of your sprayer and how much product you want to apply to the treatment area. So it would be better to pick your speed and do a calibration test with just water in your sprayer before adding your herbicide so that you can see how much water you use to cover the area you want to treat. Then you can add the correct amount of herbicide accordingly. Keep in mind that Drexel is a non-selective herbicide, so it will affect any plants you spray with it.
Drexel Imitator Plus is only labeled for use on RoundUp Ready corn.
Drexel Imitator Plus is not labeled for use on moss nor on a roof. We would suggest Bonide MossMax instead.
Per the Drexel Imitator Plus label: “Surfactants: Nonionic surfactants that are labeled “for use with herbicides” may be used. Do not reduce rates of this product when adding surfactant. When adding additional surfactant, follow manufacturer’s rates and recommendations for use of the surfactant, OR, use 0.5% surfactant concentration (2 qts. per 100 gals. of spray solution) when using surfactants that contain at least 70?tive ingredient or a 1% surfactant concentration (4 qts. per 100 gals. of spray solution) for those surfactants containing less than 70?tive ingredient. Read and carefully observe surfactant cautions.
Drexel Imitator Plus does not list toadflax on the product label as controled but it is a glyphosate based product which is non selective and will kill pretty much anything sprayed. Depending on where you need to treat we do have other products such as 4-Speed which are specifically labeled for it.
Drexel Imitator Plus and other glyphosate-based products work best when plants are actively growing and ideally in a temperature range of 65 to 90 degrees. Even if your weed is still green, it's not growing actively enough in winter temperatures for the active ingredient to move from the leaves to the roots, opposed to applying it in the Spring and Summer months.
Drexel Imitator Plus is labeled to kill perennial and annual weeds, trees, and woody brush. You should avoid contact with desirable plant foliage and exposed roots.
As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat, and until the Drexel Imitator Plus has had time to completely dry or settle, it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity. Always be sure to follow the product label instructions. Dry times will vary so a safe window to keep pets out would usually be a few hours.
Drexel Imitator Plus is labeled for alfalfa. Per the product label, if weeds have been mowed or tilled, do not treat until plants have resumed active growth and have reached the recommended stages. Repeat treatments may be necessary to control weeds regenerating from underground parts or seed. Repeat treatments must be made prior to crop emergence.
Alfafa: Apply 1 quart of this product per acre plus 0.5 to 1% nonionic surfactant by total spray volume in 3 to 10 gallons of water per acre. Make application after the last hay cutting in the Fall. Allow Alfalfa to regrow to a height of 6 to 8 inches or more prior to treatment. Application should be followed with deep tillage at least 7 days after treatment, but before soil freeze-up.
How much Drexel Imitator Plus you apply will depend on the size area you are treating and the target plants. If you are spot treating for annual grassy and broadleaf weeds, then you can use 2 oz per gallon of water for most applications. Drexel Imitator Plus should be mixed at 4-6 oz per gallon of water for hard to treat weeds. Typically, one gallon of finished solution covers about 1000 sq ft. Please refer to the product label for full application instructions.
Drexel Imitator Plus is labeled for roundup ready crops including soybeans. You should avoid contact with anything desirable that is not RoundUp Ready as it could injure them.
You should store Drexel Imitator Plus and other similar pesticides in an area out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (below freezing or above 90 degrees consistently), and out of reach of children and pets. The shelf life of the product is 2-3 years when stored correctly.
You should not mow treated areas for 2-3 days after application of Drexel Imitator Plus
Areas that have been treated with Drexel Imitator Plus can be reseeded 2 weeks after application.
The mix rate for Drexel Imitator Plus is 0.66 fl oz to 13 fl oz per gallon of water. Please refer to page 3 of the product label for the weeds you are targeting.
