The Drexel Pin Dee 3.3 EC Herbicide is labeled to prevent poa annua seed from germinating if used prior to see germination cycles in the fall and spring and at labeled rates. Pin Dee 3.3 T&O contained the same active ingredient and would be comparable
Drexel Pin Dee 3.3 Herbicide is not labeled for use on watermelons. You may consider an alternative, such as Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder, which is labeled for use on watermelons, and is a pre-emergent herbicide that helps to control grasses and broadleaf weeds. The application rate is 3 oz. of product per 2 gal. of water per 1,000 sq. ft., spraying the solution directly onto the soil.
Pin Dee 3.3 EC does list residential lawns on the label when used as directed though it is usually used around listed edible crops, while the Pin Dee 3.3 T&O was made for more turf and ornamental and non bearing fruit trees. The inert ingredients can vary between the 2 products, they just have the same active ingredient.
Yes, Drexel Pin Dee 3.3 EC Herbicide is labeled to be used on a fescue turf without damaging it.
Drexel Pin Dee 3.3 EC Herbicide is applied at 2-4 qts (with sufficient water at the time of application) per acre prior to germination at appropriate timing. Please see the label for complete instructions.
Hose end sprayers are not recommended to apply Drexel Pin Dee 3.3 EC Herbicide as it is difficult to regulate the water volume to provide a uniform spray application in a sufficient amount of water. The product label states to use proper calibrated ground equipement, hand pump or backpack sprayer for best coverage in no less than 40 gallons of water per acre (1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft) at low pressure spray setting of 20-40 psi.
For warm and cool season turfgrass applications, apply 1.3-1.8 fl. oz. in one gallon of water per 1000 sq ft. Please review the Turfgrass Section on page 17 of the product label for more specific information.
