    Will Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer harm mazus ground cover?

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is designed to treat crabgrass and other listed weeds, primarily in approved turf areas. The product label does not list mazus ground cover as a tolerant species of plant. However, since this product does kill a variety of broadleaf weeds, it may injure your groundcover. You may want to contact a master gardener in your area through your Cooperative Extension Service if you are having trouble finding an herbicide that will meet your needs.

    Will Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer control creeping charlie?

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer is not specifically labeled for creeping charlie. We do carry products that are effective for eradication. Please check out Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer. It is labeled for established cool and warm season lawns. Please refer to the product label for specific mixing and application instructions for your turfgrass.

    Will Drive XLR8 kill fountain grass that has spread from a landscape bed into my turf (Kentucky bluegrass)?
    The fountain grass has gotten very aggressive and is beyond control with just spot spraying/digging out. I need something that can take care of a fairly large area with many clumps. thanks.

    No, Drive XLR8 Herbicide is not labeled for fountain grass. We would recommend either manually removing the invasive grass or using a glyphosate product such as Roundup QuikPro.

    You would dilute approx. Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer per 14 gallons water. You would add into that approx. 8 tsp. of surfactant.

    I just planted Eco Lawn. The lawn is 4 weeks old. Can I use Drive XLR8 on the lawn now to kill weeds?

    How soon you can apply Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer after seeding depends on the lawn species you planted.  It appears Eco Lawn is a blend of fine fescues and the Drive XLR8 label states to not apply within 4 weeks after seedling emergence of this type of grass.  You should wait until the grass is well established and has been mowed at least twice before applying Drive XLR8.

    Can I mix Battleship III with Drive XLR8 to spray my yard all in one shot?

    Before mixing Battleship III and Drive XLR8, a simple jar test is required to ensure compatibility of herbicides and/or additives, like DyneAmic that's recommended to be used with Drive XLR8. Refer to the respective product labels for specific use directions, precautions, and limitations before tank mixing and we recommend that you follow the label instructions of the product with the most restrictions. Be sure that both products are safe to use on the turf you have.

    Can Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer kill the crab grass without harming the Natal Plum? Is it safe in Tall Fescue?
    A

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer can be applied to established Tall Fescue lawns with a MSO for treating crabgrass.  It is labeled for lawn use only, not for use on any ornamentals. Biotypes of large and smooth crabgrass in California have shown varied response to Drive XLR8. If control failure occurs following a full or split application, DO NOT reapply Drive XLR8. Change to an herbicide with a different mode of action.

    Can Drive XLR8 be used in a garden or hay field?
    I just tilled a field and garden area and behold, crabgrass or something very mucheap like it is sprouting and will soon cover the entire area. Part of the area is a vegetable garden and small corn field, the majority will be a hay field.

    What product should Drive XLR8 be rotated with so as not to build crabgrass resistance? Can this be mixed with Triad?
    A

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer can be tank mixed with broadleaf weed killers such as Triad for more complete control.  Be sure to follow the instructions on each product label.  Drive does have a low probability of resistance buildup, and it would take multiple repeated applications over a long period of time for this to happen.  That being said, eitjher Dismiss or Blindside would be good alternatives depending on your lawn type.

    Will Drive XLR8 broadcast over our yard using proper rates damage my fruit trees?

    Drive XLR8 Herbicide Crabgrass Killer can be applied as a broadcast, but it should not be used on any edible vegetation nor should it be applied to exposed feeder roots of trees, ornamentals or within the drip line of trees and other ornamental species.

    Does Drive XLR8 kill knotweed?
    A

    No, Drive XLR8 Herbicide is not labeled to kill knotweed. EndRun Herbicide with Trimec is labeled to control Knotweed and labeled to be used on warm and cool season grasses. We recommend reading the label for application rates as well as to make sure it's safe for your type of grass.

    Which product is recommended to kill crab grass, dandelion, and other weeds in ice plant ground cover?
    A

    You can use a grass killer such as Fusilade to kill grassy weeds around the ice plant groundcover:

    This product will be best used around established ornamentals and ground covers (do not use in desirable turfgrass).

    For broadleaf weeds such as dandelion, there are not any selective herbicides to kill the weeds but not potentially harm the ground cover, so we recommend spot treating carefully using a non-selective product like GlyPhoSel Pro

    You can also use pre-emergent herbicide going forward in spring and/or fall to prevent weed growth. Snapshot is our most popular choice for use around ornamentals and groundcovers.
