I have lost peaches for the past three years to coonThe first night I set the trap around my peach trees, my neighbor called me to let me know that three coon were hanging around the trap. When I went out to check, one coon went up the peach tree, and one was in the trap. I ran over and had to manually set the trap. I found there was a slight flaw with the trap. If a coon is small, It will not set off the trap because of it's weight. It can go in, take the bait and not set it off. If the coon is larger it never misses. I have caught 7 coon in 2 weeks and finally saved my peaches. Thanks Duke.

I was extremely disappointed with this so called “heavy duty” trap. First off, once you open the box you can't return it; it's made in china, the “heavy duty” wire is little more than chicken wire; the trap door is barely engineered to stay open and when a rambunctious animal rolls the cage over the “trap door” falls wide open. I found an honest to goodness heavy duty trap Made in USA at a local Huffmans Farm and Home for equivalent $$$. Save your money.

Good solid wire trap that works. The price was less than less quality traps in the box stores and shipping was fast! I prefer not to buy Chinese products though!

Quality construction but I've trapped the same large raccoon three times that pushes open the door and is released. Seen him do it once...

Trap is strongly built with heavy wire. Door is made of bars with rings that slide down to prevent an animal from raising door. The rings make it difficult to set trap because you have to raise both rings to raise door. Dangerous if you have a Coon in there because you are putting your hands close to animal if you want to release it. Small trap door to add bait at back of trap has no latch. Trigger rod has only one notch so you can't adjust sensitivity. Trigger foot platform is made of wire and many animals won't step on it. This trap is not worth what I paid for it. I would not buy another one made like this.

Trap works great, the only problem that I can see in the near future it's going to rust, it has already started rusting a little after a couple of weeks outside. The paint seems to be a little thin.

This Large trap is built very good and most adequate for trapping Raccoons, other traps were destroyed not this one, used successfully many times over population of pests now under control, AAA+++

Love this cage! Heavy duty and well built to out last the raccoons that always seem to invade us. I've been looking for one like this for awhile and very happy when it came back into stock. Easy to use and the size is great.

Wow! Got this live trap one day and captured that pesky huge raccoon that night. Our other cage couldn't hold it. I would recommend this Cage to anyone with a hard to catch creature!

This is a serious trap. The ones you typically find are too small and will not work on full size coons. This one does.

Been using Duke traps for years. Always been satisfied with them.This latest purchase was to replace one that was stolen.Its a great trap Shipping was prompt and the item was packaged well.

I have only used the trap twice. The first time I used it the opossum went in and ate half the cat food and then left and must of bumped the door on the way out because the door was down but the opossum was nowhere to be found. After that I decided to adjust the moving parts to make it easier for the floor piece to spring. I also lubricated all the moving parts to make it easier to spring the trap. On the second try , lo and behold I got him. This opossum was so big, he was a keeper. You would not throw him back. One thing about Georgia, we know how to grow opossums.

Seems solid and well-constructed. Some of the paint was scraped off in several spots when received, but I re-painted it with flat paint anyway. Shipping time was reasonable.

This trap is much larger than the first Dukes raccoon trap I had. Also, something keeps tripping the the trap and stealing the bait...? I'm gonna put a camera on it this week. But all in all, a very sturdy and well-made trap.

got this trap to catch woodchucks and coon I like the size they will enter it faster trap looks very well made I use it to keep animals out of my garden and away from my chicken and geese the trap will work perfect DoMyOwn are great to work with

I like this trap, the trip mechanism is not all the way to the back like others and has a higher probably of tripping when entered. In my other trap the trip plate is at the back and the animal can eat over it without ever stepping on it. Food would be gone each day but the trap was still set. Bought this trap because the trap i was using could not catch an armadillo that was tearing up my yard. Caught it first night with this one. Decent construction, better than most. Sensitive trip mechanism. Happy with purchase.

I have shopped around & hands down this is the most durable, easy to use critter catcher out there. I am delighted with my trap because it easily holds larger, more destructive predators like raccoons. They aren't getting out of this trap unless you set them free. I was very impressed with the fast shipping speed also. Excellent product, excellent service.

Construction quality not as good as my previous Duke trap. Not sure where it was made, but this one was made in China. I had to add reinforcements in several spots before first use

Right away caught two possum and one armadillo. It sat through one rain, now showing a little rust in friction places. Critters don't care, but eventually I'll need to spray paint it if it keeps rusting.

All my other live animal traps were too light. The coons and possums tore them up. This trap is strong. Some years I have caught 12 or more coons and possums and it's the only trap that works. Like all traps you have to learn how to set the trip.

I have a very old rusted trap. Needed to catch ground hogs so as not to eat the garden which is fenced in by the way. Caught a grhog but it chewed a hole in it and got out. Repaired the old trap and one got caught and chewed the new wire again to get out. Ordered 2 of these traps. Set one and caught a grhog the next afternoon and it died in the trap. Reset it and caught another the next afternoon and it died in the trap. I recommend this trap because it has the wire plate instead of the solid metal one that animals can bend making the trap not work properly. Also it has a feeding door but we put a clip on it just in case. It is the only trap I found that is most like the old one. I think you will be satisfied with it.

Classic Git 'er done device. Two weeks later we're five raccoons into the 2025 raccoon relocation program. The other raccoons have been organizing marches and parading around out front with protest signs, chanting, "Hell No, We Won't Go," and "Raccoons United Will Never Be Defeated." It's sad really, because they WILL go and they WILL be defeated. Recommended purchase!

nice trap, opening style is not the best when releasing animals, single lever works best, other than that, it is a HD trap.

Through no fault of the manufacturer or DoMyOwn, the trap was rendered unusable without extensive repairs at some point in the shipping process. DoMyOwn gave me a full refund on the item and didn't require me to return it, so I eventually made time to cobble it into working condition. Since it's been repaired, it has been a very effective live trap. Our raccoons have met their match! The trap and DoMyOwn are held in high esteem here at our place!

great heavy duty trap- big racoons can bend their way out of light traps. racoons are indiscriminate killers, our chickens and ducks. they met their match with our DUKE TRAP. THIS IS OUR SECOND TRAP . that what happens when you lend it out and don't get it back. MIDWAY UT.
