I don't know anything bad to say. I have never had or used one of these before, but you put the loop over the dog's head and pull the cord on the other end of the pole. As long as you get it tight enough that he can't slip out, you have complete control over the animal. When you turn the knob thing on the back end of the pole, it springs out to loosen. (You don't have to push the cable out to loosen it.) I can't think of anything it could do better.

This is for my personal cat - when he gets out of our yard (which we try our best to keep him in) he ignores me and stays just out of reach. He's probably too smart to let me catch him with a pole, but I'll try anything. It's for his own safety as he is missing a front leg and jumping down from heights could be harmful or fatal.
