  • Asked by Sandy from Murrells Inlet, Sc
    04/05/2018
    Q
What can I use to treat my honeysuckle plant for powdery mildew?
A local nursery recommended spraying it with copper fungicide. Hummingbirds are taking advantage of early blossoms. Will this product harm them?
    A

While we do have several copper fungicides which are labeled to treat powdery mildew, none are specifically labeled for honeysuckle.  We would recommend a product like Eagle 20EW, which is specifically labeled to apply to honeysuckle for powdery mildew.  It should not harm hummingbirds if used as directed.  Ideally, you would want to apply at a time when there are no birds in the area until the product has had time to dry.

  • Asked by Pablo from Md
    05/21/2014
    Q
When using a hose dial sprayer for grapes what is the setting when applying Eagle 20EW?
Do I dilute the fungicide in the sprayer bottle in addition to the water that will come through the hose? The label is confusing.
    A
It is not recommended to use the Eagle in a hose end applicator as they do not deliver an even application and most do not go down to a low enough setting for proper dilution. According to the product label: Use 6-10 oz per acre for disease control on grapes. This comes out to roughly 0.25 oz per thousand square feet in no less than 2 gallons of water. If your hose end sprayer allows you to dial down to this setting then you may be able to use it otherwise you would need a pump or backpack sprayer.

  • Asked by Khori from Boynton Beach, Fl
    07/11/2015
    Q
What is the best product to treat for gray leaf spot on St Augustine grass in South Florida?
    A

We recommend using Eagle 20EW to treat for Gray Leaf Spot on your turf. When treating for Gray Leaf Spot you want to use a mixture of 1.2 to 2.4 fl oz per 1000 square feet in 14 day intervals. Apply Eagle 20EW in sufficient water to ensure thorough coverage. For foliar diseases, use approximately 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq ft. Before using, we suggest going over the product label to reconfirm any information you may need when using Eagle 20EW.

  • Asked by Rick from Orlando, Fl
    03/05/2018
    Q
Can I use Eagle 20EW Fungicide on rust spores on Plumeria/Frangipani trees?
What's the mix ratio per gallon if I can?
    A

Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide is labeled to treat rust on a wide variety of ornamental plants. Plumeria/Frangipani trees are not listed specifically on the label, so we would recommend testing one or two plants for tolerance before treating a large number of plants. For most ornamentals, you would use 6-12 oz per 100 gallons of water per Acre, or 0.06 - 0.12 oz per gallon of water.

  • Asked by Roy from Fenwick, Mi

    Q
Does Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide expire?
Have had a bottle for around 3 yrs. Just doesn't seem to work as when I first purchased it
    A

Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide has a shelf life of 3-5 years if stored in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.  It is always recommended to rotate fungicides every 2-3 applications to prevent resistance buildup.  If Eagle is not working as well and that is all you have used, then this could be the issue.
