    Q
How well does EcoVia EC work on fleas?
Would I be able to spray it with an IGR like NyGuard?
    A

EcoVia EC is a liquid botanical oil insecticide, and is lableled for fleas and would work very well if you are looking for a more natural alternative to other insecticide ingredients. It also can be mixed with any IGR that we carry as well.

    Q
Safe for Use on Vinyl Siding?
Is the diluted product safe for use on vinyl siding? Some of the wording regarding plastics on the product label causes me concerns about using the product on vinyl siding.
    A
It would not be recommended to spray EcoVia EC on vinyl siding because it is plastic which is a sensitive surface that may be stained by oil based products. If overspray lands on any sensitive surfaces (particularly plastics), simply rinse with water and wipe off with a clean cloth.

    Q
Pesticide to control spiders, flying gnats, mayflies and mud daubers
We are searching for a product suitable to be used around an aquatic setting. I am responsible for the upkeep of a large marina on a Federal Reservoir in Kansas. We suffer from an over-abundance of flying insects which attract spiders which attract mud daubers which irritates everyone. I need a pesticide that I can apply to the concrete walkways, metal support columns and the roof beams that will provide a contact and residual control of these predominant insects pests. As you may understand the problem is that we are a floating structure over the lake waters. Would you recommend a product for my application.
    A
EcoVia would be a good product to use over water as it poses no aquatic toxicity and is an all natural product.  It will not provide a contact kill and concentrates are not designed to do so once dry but will last about 2-3 weeks on exposed outside surfaces, longer on surfaces not exposed to the eliminates.

The Eco Via EC manufacturer does not make any claims to kill bed bug eggs or kill adult bed bugs on contact. Instead, you should rely on Eco Via EC to kill active bed bugs within several hours of contact. • Asked by B.j. from Dallas, Pa

    Q
How to I eliminate and repel fungus gnats on my 1/2 acre property that will always have wet spots?
Our 'yard' is just under 1/2 acre and always has a couple of wet spots. The fungus gnats are so bad, I can't play fetch with my dogs without a net on my face or I have to constantly wave my hands to keep them away. Everything I read requires allowing the wet spots to dry in addition to pesticide. This is not an option for reasons I won't get into. I need to know how to control these things. Thank you for your help!
    A

Unfortunately, insects like fungus gnats breed in wet areas since they feed on the micro-organisms found in that wet soil. Unless the environmental conditions are altered, you cannot expect to eliminate these insects. You can use a natural insecticide such as EcoVia EC which does not have restrictions on use around aquatic areas. This product will have residual when kept dry. We would also recommend using personal insect repellents and perhaps ThermaCELL lanterns as well.

  • Asked by Daniel from Fayetteville Ga

    Q
    Termite protection using EcoVia
I see Termites listed as one of the Target pests but there is an asterisk * after Termites. I did not see a footnote for the *. What does the asterisk refer to? I want a diy termite protection for my house in Fayetteville GA. Would I apply this product like Termidor is applied, but digging a shallow space around the foundation and then spraying Eco Via EC in this shallow trench? ...or some other application?
    A

EcoVia EC states on the product label: * This product is not recommended as sole protection against termites and is not approved as a pre-construction treatment for subterranean termites.  It is really only for spot treating active termites.  Termidor SC would be the best product for trenching as prevention.

  • Asked by Linda from Cape May Court House, Nj
    06/11/2014
    Q
What about the runoff of EcoVia EC onto plants and flowers? Will the pollinating insects be killed? What about snakes, toads, lizards, plants, wildlife?
    A
EcoVia EC is liquid botanical insecticide that can be applied to areas where there is water as it will not harm aquatic organisms. It is not labeled to kill toads, lizards, snakes or other wildlife. A small scale test is recommended to verify safety of ornamental plants because phytotoxicity can occur. It will kill insects that are treated or land on the treated areas. Applications should be made when the pollinating insects are not in the area etc.

    Q
How long does it take EcoVia EC to kill springtails?
    A

The time frame it takes EcoVia EC  to eliminate springtails will depend on the number of springtails in the area and the rate the product is applied at. It could take up to a week to see results. • Asked by Mike from Plainfield Il

    Q
What insecticide can I use to treat my property for ticks and mosquitoes?
I'm thinking of buying a 40 gallon sprayer for my tractor and would like to see what insecticide options are out there. I would be doing about an acre. I live on a river, have kids, dogs and caged chickens so I'd prefer something a little on the safer side. I would like to treat for ticks and mosquitos if the product also treated ants and wasps that would be a plus!
    A

An all natural product like the EcoVia EC would be a great option for both ticks and mosquitoes is safe near water.  Pets and people should be kept out of the area until dry and can return after that time.  It is also labeled for many other insects and is a great general pest control option.  We have some great articles here for Ticks and Mosquitoes as well that can be helpful.

Mixing EcoVia EC with Archer IGR
What would be the mixing sequence of Ecovia EC with Archer IGR?

You can mix the two products into the tank sprayer with water in either order you would like. Typically you will want to fill your sprayer half way full of water, add in your ingredients- 1-2 oz of EcoVia EC and 1 oz of Archer IGR, shake the solution to incorporate the chemicals into the water, then fill the rest of the tank up, shake again, and start spraying.
