    Eraser Weed Killer

    By Betty on 06/22/2011

Eraser is the best weed killer we have ever used. We have used many types and brands of weed killer over the years but most were expensive and a waste of money, time, and energy as they were ineffective.  Vegetation sprayed with Eraser takes about a week to wither and die. Certain plants, depending on type, size, and age, may require a second application, but this stuff works.  It even kills poison oak that is climbing up a tree trunk without killing the tree.  Just don't get it on the leaves of the tree.  Do not use if the wind is blowing because if mist drifts onto something you do not wish to kill, it will die.  Eraser is easy to mix and use.  It kills vegetation that it is sprayed on but does not "kill" the soil. Desired plants can be grown there later.  It is my understanding that Eraser does NOT leach into ground water – that degradation of this product is primarily a biological process carried out by soil microbes.  If you have annoying, hard to control weeds or bushes, my family recommends this product as THE BEST. DoMyOwnPestControl company is great to do business with.  I ordered the 2.5 gallon size of Eraser and was surprised at how quickly it arrived.

    Excellent weed killer

    By Joe on 04/03/2011

Works great. Wait at least a week before you look for results after spraying. Takes a while to kick in but this product kills weeds like nothing else.

    Eraser requires a little patience...

    By Manny on 09/29/2011

I was tired of paying the ridiculous prices for weed killer. Tried a 3oz/gallon mix of Eraser, but didn't see results the first couple of days. I continued to wait as the above reviewer had said it can take a week. Sure enough, after the 5th or 6th day, the weeds died. 2.5 gallons is going to last me a loooong time! :)

Great product, works fast and effective. It takes about a week to work but it eliminates all weeds. Be careful around grass and flowers, because it will kill them as well.

    Eraser Herbicide

    By John on 09/08/2011

This is a very effective and easy to use product. We use it to control noxious weeds around our farm. Tansy is a big problem in this area but we now have it nearly eradicated here on our place. The price is way less than local and no shipping charges makes this a great econimical product to use.

Q
Will Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide harm dogs if they get it on their feet before it dries?

Yard was sprayed and we didn't know. Let dogs out immediately . We were then told it had been sprayed and dogs were removed. They were out in sprayed area for 10-15 minutes.

A

Per the instructions on the Eraser 41% product label, Rinse any skin that was in contact with the product while it was still wet for 10-15 minutes and consult a vet.

Q
Can I use Eraser 41% with Tenacity mixed together?

Want to kill my present lawn and plan on using Eraser, but wanted to mix it with Tenacity and apply both at the same time. Using the Tenacity as a pre-emergent since Eraser is not.

A

Yes, if you are looking to kill your entire existing lawn as well as short term prevent new weeds from coming up, you are welcome to use the Eraser Herbicide mixed with Tenacity as a pre emergent. Keep in mind that Tenacity will not work on all weed species and some likely will still emerge after an application, as well as that it only lasts in the soil about 30 days.

Q
Does Eraser 41% provide quick burn down?

I would like to know a little more about Eraser 2.5 gallon herbicide. is it a burn down herbicide like paraquat used to be? We can't get Paraquat anymore, they call it Gramoxone. It is not near as good as the paraquat used to be back in the 70s, we did thousands of acres of rye to no-till corn back then with Paraquat. My question is do you have any thing that will burn down like Paraquat?

A
We do apologize but Paraquat is not a product that we have carried so are not familiar with it to compare it to Eraser 41%.  It can take up to 2 weeks for Eraser to completely kill a weed depending on the rate used and the weed you are trying to control.

Q
Will Eraser kill weeds that are growing through weed barrier cloth?

We recently finished xeriscaping part of our back yard in San Antonio. Once the Bermuda was removed, a cloth weed barrier cloth was laid down, then xeriscape plants, followed by river Rock. Now we have weeds popping up within the xeriscape river Rock. I think most of the weeds are growing up through the barrier cloth. I have spot sprayed the weeds with 2.5 Oz concentration Eraser, but the weeds are still around and seem to be thriving. Will the Eraser Kill these plants if the concentrate can not directly get to the weed roots?

A

Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide should be applied to contact the target weeds to kill them and it will be absorbed to the roots.  Per the product label: most treated weeds usually show initial symptoms in 2-4 days and complete kill in 1-2 weeks. Hard-to-control weeds may require a second application if not completely dead in 4 weeks.

Q
Got Eraser on my skin and the skin is black and partially missing

What should I do about this

A
When Eraser is used as directed per the MSDS:

The product is only slightly toxic and only slightly irritating as shown by toxicity studies if skin contact is made.

We would recommend contacting your doctor with the MSDS we have linked or SafetyCall International 1-(866) 897-8050 as listed on the MSDS for further information.

Q
After you spray the Eraser, how long does it keep things dead before the grass and weeds start growing back in?
A

Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide should kill treated vegetation for up to a year. We do not recommend spraying it on any desired turfgrass as it is a non-selective so it will not prevent weeds from germinating. We do carry pre-emergent herbicides that will prevent listed grassy weeds and broadleaf weeds from emerging.

Q
May I use Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide in my blueberry patch to kill crown vetch?
A

Crownvetch is hard to control once it is established. Using a glyphosate such as Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide or a triclopyr product is your best option to eradicate. It is recommended to apply per the product label rates on the cut stems and foliage. Follow-up treatment with herbicide is likely required to control any surviving stems or new seedlings.  Be sure to avoid any contact with the desirable plants as Eraser is a non selective that will kill anything sprayed.

Q
Will Eraser kill centipede grass in my horse pasture?
A

Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide can kill centipede and anything else growing in the area as it is a non selective herbicide.  You will need to allow at least 7 days between applying and allowing animals to graze in the same area.

Q
Will Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide kill privet weed?
A

Unfortunately, privet is going to be difficult to kill and can take repeat applications to new growth for some time. Glyphosate and triclopyr are the two most effective chemicals to prevent the re-growth of privet hedges.

For young Privet, foliar applications with Eraser 41% Weed Killer Herbicide can be applied at the rate of 2.5 fl oz (5 Tbs) per gallon of water spraying the foliage to wet but not to the point of run off. Good spray coverage over the entire plant is very important as privet shrubs sprayed only on the sides will not be completely killed. The optimal timing for glyphosate treatment is late fall to early winter (November through early January) when day temperatures are mild.

For established privet, we would recommend cut stump treatments where you would cut the stump down just above the ground and then immediately apply a brush killer such as Fertilome Brush Killer with a paintbrush (or full strength) onto the stump. If the privet has an open, tree-like form, cut off the side limbs first and then cut the main truck as close as possible to the ground. If it is growing as a compact shrub, cut it at the base and then drag the whole plant away as one piece

If the privet is taller than 6 to 8 feet, consider using other methods such as brush mulching, basal bark, or cut stump treatment with a 41% Glyphosate + Surfactant or Triclopyr herbcide is suggested.

Please review this article by Alabama A&M & Auburn University Extension Office that has some great information on alternative methods for treating Privet.
