This kind of lawn food slowly releases nitrogen, granular and will not burn any lawn. A product that does not only makes any lawn beautiful and look healthy, it's also safe for kids, pets and the environment. This Espoma Lawn Food does not require any chemicals to be used, just all natural and organic nutrients that's great to use for all seasons.

Where to Use
For use on all lawns: Cool season grasses including bluegrass, fine fescue, tall fescue and perennial ryegrass. Warm season grasses including bentgrass, bermudagrass, St. Augustine grass, zoysiagrass and centipede grass.
Application Rate:
Established Lawns: Feed at a rate of 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
New Lawns / Overseeding: Feed at a rate of 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
Seed can be sown on the same day of application.
Sodding: Apply to the finished grade soil prior to installation at a rate of 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
How to Use
Apply to a dry lawn that has recently been mowed. Use a drop or broadcast spreader and be certain to overlap slightly to prevent striping. For best results, water lightly after the application if rain is not expected within 24 hours.
When to Use
Feed any time grass is actively growing
Cool season grass: Feed 3-4 times each year: Early Spring,Late Spring (optional), Early Fall and Late Fall.
Warm season grass: Feed 4-5 times each year: Late Winter, Early Spring, Late Spring, Late Summer, and Fall. Can be used on established lawns as well as new seed / sod installations. When appliedat the recommended rates of application, this product will not burn grass and is appropriate for areas frequented by children and pets.

at 79 years of age I don't want to have to cut my lawn frequently so my concern about the 18 for N--it seems high!
The Espoma Lawn Food 18-0-3 is a all season lawn food that slowly releases nitrogen. This is applied after mowing to feed the actively growing lawn. Please let us know if you have other needs for your lawn and we will be happy to help!

I have one acre with a house so approx 3/4 acre to be fertilized.
The 20-lb. bag of Espoma Lawn Food 18-0-3 will cover 5000 sq. ft.
