    Q
If using Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate in kitchen cabinets, how should we clean them before putting food or dishes back in?
What kinds of cleaners would be best?
    A

We would recommend applying Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate to the cracks and crevices and where the floor meets the wall or cabinets. You can use any household cleaner/soap for your cabinets and place your dishes back inside. We would avoid spraying inside the cabinets. What insect are you targeting? Many folks treating for ant/roaches in the kitchen will use baits in the cabinets that will not harm the items inside and is safer.

    Q
Does Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate kill flea eggs or just fleas?
    A

Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate is labled to treat fleas only and not the eggs. The key to killing young fleas is to use an IGR or Insect Growth Regulator. Most IGR’s cause growth abnormalities in the egg and larvae stages. We have a great guide here that can explain the best treatment for fleas.

  • Asked by Eddie from Leeds, Al

    Q
What can I use to control spiders and ants in my boathouse?
    A

Around boathouses and docks, you are limited to the natural products like Essentria IC3 or EcoVia as they are non-toxic to aquatic life. Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate is our most popular choice for spider control in areas around water. It is effective for spiders and kills other insects like ants, eliminating the spider’s prey which will help keep new spiders from moving back into the area. This product is safe around water where most other insecticides are prohibited.

    Q
Can Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate kill webworms?
    A

Yes, per the product label of Essentria IC3, "USE ON TURF AND GRASS: Use alone as a contact spray to control ants, armyworms, billbugs, chinch bugs, chiggers, crickets, cutworms, earwigs, fleas, grasshoppers, hyperodes weevils (adults), Japanese beetles (adults), mole crickets, sod webworms and ticks, dilute in a compressed air sprayer (or backpack), 2 to 4 fluid ounces of Essentria IC3 per gallon of water and apply at the rate of 2 to 4 gallons per 1,000 square feet or until area is thoroughly wet. For power sprayers, mix approximately 2 to 4 fluid ounces per gallon of water and apply until area is sufficiently covered (usually min. 4 gallons per 1,000 square feet with power sprayer). Exceeding rates may create potential phytotoxicity on turf surfaces.

    Q
    Essentria IC3 & Harmonix mix?
A friend told me that his pest guy uses a mix of Essentria IC3 & Harmonix; Both having similar but different effects on home pest control. Is this an okay combo to be used in effectively treating most household pests (spiders, roaches, centipedes, scorpions, etc)? Also, are both considered "natural" or "organic"? Lastly, if I can mix these, what is the recommended ratio?
    A
There are no labeled restrictions stating Harmonix Insect Spray and Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate cannot be mixed and applied at the same time. However, I do not see the benefit in mixing the two products. Both products work the same and are labeled for the same pests. I would recommend just using Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate. Also, Harmonix Insect Spray has been discontinued, so I am not sure of any stores where the product is still being sold.

    Q
Do you have to clean the sprayer/fogger after each use of applying Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate?
    A

Yes, it is recommended to thoroughly rinse your sprayer after each use of insecticides such as Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate especially since this is an oil based insecticide. Leftover residue can cause buildup and corrosion causing the equipment to not work.

  • Asked by Eric from Standish, Me
    04/14/2021
    Q
What is the mix rate for Essentria IC3 Insecticide Concentrate to effectively treat for insects but not damage vinyl siding?
    A

Essentria IC3 should not pose any harm to any surface if applied as directed on the product label. As always, we suggest that you test a smaller inconspicuous area first.  The product should be mixed at 2 to 8 ounces per gallon of water (depending on the target pest) and applied at the rate of 2 gallons per 1000 square feet or until area is thoroughly wet. Essentria IC3 does have an outdoor residual of 30 days and 90 days indoors.
