    Will ExciteR Insecticide kill the moth larvae in my wool oriental rugs? Do I spray them outside?
    Do I have to wear a mask? Should I use the catch trap also? Will I have to spray often? I think I got all of the adults and I bagged all my clothes and put them outside until I can wash them tomorrow. I am heartbroken over the damage to my rugs.
    A
    ExciteR will eliminate most insects when they are sprayed directly with the product. ExciteR can be sprayed indoors but all people (except for the applicator) and pets will need to be out of the area while you are doing the application and they can return as soon as the area is dry. You will only need to wear a mask if you are spraying in a poorly ventilated area. Using the Clothing Moth Traps can help you catch any of the adult male moths that are lingering indoors and they can help you monitor the infestation. Be sure to thoroughly vacuum the rugs frequently to help remove eggs and larva as they emerge from the eggs.

    Can I mix Suspend with ExciteR to kill bedbugs?
    A

    Yes  You will mix 1.5 fl oz of Suspend SC and 2.125 oz of ExcitR per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft of crack and crevice areas.  Please read over our Bed Bug Treatment Guide and be sure to read the ExciteR and Suspend labels before use.

    Cloth moths a damaging my wool carpet. What product containing pyrethrum can I apply onto the carpet?
    I learned that I should spray the infested carpet thoroughly on the front and back, and roll up the rug for a day. I would test the product in an inconspicuous area first.

    We would recommend a Pyrethrin product called ExciteR.  You are correct in stating that you should apply in a inconspicuous area first.

    How well does ExciteR Insecticide work on killing flies?
    We have them very bad and we need a product to get rid of them so we can walk in to our back yard and not get covered in flies. What product will help us take care of this matter?
    A
    ExciteR will offer a fast knockdown of the insects present at the time of the application but it will not leave a long lasting residual. You may want to consider mixing ExciteR with Talstar P so you will have a fast knockdown of the flies present and a lasting residual to help control the new flies that come into the area. Depending on the type of flies in your yard, using a fly trap such as the Advantage Fly Trap or the Flies Be Gone fly trap should help too.

    Does Exciter Insecticide work on bed bugs?
    A

    Exciter Insecticide is used as an additive to make an insecticide work faster. We would not recommend this product being the sole product you are using for bed bugs because it does not provide any residual control, however it does offer fast kill of bed bugs and any other insect pests. It would be a great additive to a product such as Temprid SC.

    When mixing 1 ounce of Talstar per gallon of water, how small of an amount of ExciteR Insecticide can I add for effective mosquito knockdown?
    It is very expensive vs the talstar and I don't want to use any more than necessary.

    The minimum amount you can mix ExciteR with Talstar is 0.5 oz ExciteR with .5oz Talster per gallon of water. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Article for more information about this pest.

    Is ExciteR okay to be sprayed into the back of my fridge with food in it?
    The exterminator just came and sprayed it into the back of my fridge for roaches and also around my pantry area. There was food in the fridge and packaged food (boxes and cans) in the pantry. The label says all food should be removed or covered. Is my food safe?

    While we cannot comment on the work of the exterminator due to liability, we would recommend following the ExciteR Insecticide label. The food should be removed and/or covered when spraying the product. We would recommend throwing out the contaminated items. Please let us know if you have any additional questions

    How do I mix ExciteR for use in a Burgess Propane Fogger?
    Is my Burgess Propane Fogger considered "thermal" and I read somehere about "oil base" something when using in "thermal" fogger?

    We apologize, we are not familiar with this type of fogger. We recommedn contacting the manufacturer of your fogger to make sure it is propane. We sell the Fog RX propane fogger, which you would use mineral oil to dilute Exciter.

    Is Exciter a repellent? If so, why would one mix it with a non-repellent?
    A

    ExciteR pyrethrin concentrate contains 6% pyrethrins and can be used alone in a fogger or pump sprayer, or as an additive to other insecticides for a faster knock-down of insect pests, but it is not a repellent. When used alone, ExciteR does not leave a long residual. ExciteR Insecticide can be used for that extra punch in any insecticide, except with non-repellent products which are on our site, Termidor SC and Phantom.

    Can you mix ExciteR and Demon WP (for rapid knockdown and Residual)
    Using for Cicada killer wasps.

    You absolutely can mix ExcitR and Demon WP.  ExcitR is actually made to add to any insecticide to add that extra punch to give a really quick knockdown.  For Cicada killers, you should treat in the late evening when they are down their burrow holes and mix the Demon WP and ExcitR in a bucket or garden can so you can flood the burrow quickly and effectively.

    Can ExciteR be applied to clothing as a repellent?
    The active ingredient in Sawyer's insect repellent is permethrin. According to my exterminator, he stated that this product could be used as a better repellent for ticks/mosquitoes on hunting clothing. Can this be used in such a fashion?

     ExciteR Insecticide cannot be applied to clothing. We do sell Repel which is labeled to be applied to clothing.

    Going to mix Exciter with Demon Max in a B&G Portable Aerosol System to kill German Roaches. At what mix rate should I use?

    The mixing ratio of Exciter Insecticide is 0.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. The mixing ratio for Demon Max is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be mixed together in the same tank.

    What insecticide can you mix with ExciteR insecticide to get rid of roaches in your home?

    ExciteR Insecticide is a synergist product and can be mixed with other insecticides to provide a quick knockdown of the pest you are treating for.  ExciteR Insecticide does not have a long residual when applied by itself.  You can mix it with insecticides such as Bifen IT, Talstar P or Suspend SC.

    For a German cockroach infestation, could you tell me the mixing instructions for Exciter, Suspend and Gentrol IGR?
    A

    The mixing ratio for Exciter is 0.25 fl. oz. per gallon of water. The mixing ratio for Suspend SC is 0.75 fl. oz. per gallon of water. The mixing ratio for Gentrol IGR is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. These can be mixed together and sprayed in the same tank. 

    We would also recommend a bait gel, such as Maxforce Magnum, for use inside of cabinets and drawers for another source to kill the roaches. Be sure not to spray the bait because it will contaminate it and the roaches will not consume it.

    Are ExciteR and Archer IGR close to the same product?
    A
    ExciteR and Archer IGR are not the same type of product. ExciteR is a
    concentrate contains 6% pyrethrins and can be used alone in a fogger or pump sprayer, or as an additive to other insecticides such as malathion, permethrin or cypermethrin for a faster knock-down of insect pests. Archer IGR offers no killing power for the insect. It will impede the reproductive cycle of the insect.  An IGR is a form of “birth control” for pests which helps keep the populations of unwanted pests under control by preventing current and future infestations. They can both be mixed together with a professional strength inseciticide concentrate.

    Is ExciteR considered an organic product?
    Is this product qualify for use in organic gardens/farms?

    Unfortunately, ExciteR Insecticide is not considered an organic product as it is not labeled to be used on edible gardens. We do have PyGanic Gardening which also contains pyrethrins and is OMRI certified for use on a wide variety of crops.
