Yes, ExciteR Insecticide is meant to be mixed with products like Talstar and an IGR.
No, ExciteR Insecticide cannot be used on any edible vegetation. We do carry Cyonara Lawn and Garden which can be used on vegetable gardens to help control millipedes. Please refer to the product label to be sure the plants that you need to treat are listed.
There are not a lot of options that we typically recommend as a contact kill in a concentrated form that you would put in a pump sprayer. Most nest eliminating products would be in the form of an aerosol to kill that nest instantly. Or if the nest is in an eave of a home using a dust like Tempo 1% Dust is always a great way to get the wasps to carry the product back to the nest as well. For a contact kill only in a concentrated form, you would go with something like ExciteR Pyrethrin Concentrate. You could then follow up the nest areas around the home with a residual like Tempo SC Ultra or Cyonara 9.7 to help keep them from being a continuous problem throughout the season.
ExciteR Insecticide is designed as a contact kill and is active when it is wet. Once the application is dry, there will very little residual effect, if any. Since this is a contact and flushing agent, you would use ExciteR as needed, and the best reapplication timing will depend on what pest you are treating.
No ExciteR Insecticide is not labeled for eriophyid mites. Successfully treating for eriophyid mites requires using a miticide or insecticide effective against eriophyid mites, such as Avid Miticide or Sevin Concentrate.
Keep in mind that ExciteR Insecticide is a knockdown prouct, so it is only active while it is wet. Per the product label, for carpet beetles:
To control carpet beetles (black, furniture and varied), dilute 4.25 fluid ounces of ExciteR per gallon of water and apply to the entire carpet at the rate of 1 gallon per 750 square feet. Make localized applications under the edge of carpets, floor coverings, and furniture as well as along baseboards, in closets and to infested areas of shelving.
For webbing clothes moths:
To control Clothes Moths, remove infested articles from storage, brush them thoroughly and air-dry them in sunlight for several hours. Dilute 2.125 fluid ounces of ExciteR per gallon of water and apply as a crack and crevice treatment to empty chests, bureaus and storage sites. After airing, infested articles may be lightly treated with the spray solution (keep the nozzle at least three feet from the fabric to avoid staining).
Per the ExciteR Insecticide product label: "To provide increased control of resistant German Cockroaches: tank mix 2.125 to 4.25 fl. ounces of ExciterR with the appropriate amount of companion insecticide."
ExciteR Insecticide will not eliminate parvo illness in your yard. This product will kill insects on contact once applied and does not have a residual.
You could apply just about any residual insecticide with ExciteR Insecticide. For general insect prevention, you could use it with Tempo SC Ultra, which is a good general insecticide. Another option would be to use a product that already has two active ingredients in it. Temprid FX is like Tempo SC (beta-cyfluthrin) plus a non-repellent (imidacloprid) in one product. So you are getting the initial kill plus a longer residual, and the residual product has some transfer effect which is extra helpful when treating social insects like ants. Keep in mind that ExciteR is really used for quick knockdown at the time of application. We have more tips about ant control in our online Guide here.
ExciteR Insecticide should be mixed at 1.0 to 2.125 fluid ounces per gallon of water for Chiggers.
ExciteR Insecticide is a professional grade liquid concentrate which contains natural pyrethrin plus PBO (a synergist) for quick kill and flushing of a wide variety of insect pests. It can be used on its own, but it is also often used as an additive to other residual insecticides for faster knockdown. Bonide Termite and Carpenter Ant Killer is a ready-to-use aerosol containing S-bioallethrin and Deltamethrin. This is more of an over-the-counter strength product. Please let us know if you need assistance selecting a product for the pest(s) you are targeting.
Insects sprayed directly with ExciteR Insecticide should die within a few hours depending on the rate it was applied at along with the Suspend Polyzone. After the initial application ExciteR does not leave a residual and dissipates and Polyzone does not kill on contact. Once the area dries it can take a few hours up to 24 or more for insects that contact a treated area to die.
Per manufacturer, you can mix mineral oil purchased from your local drug store with ExciteR Insecticide.
ExciteR Insecticide is a safe product when used as directed on the label. Pets will need to be out of the area while you are doing the application and they can return as soon as the area is dry.
Riptide and ExciteR have the same active ingredients (although in different amounts) and are similar in nature but have different formulations. Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV is specifically formulated for use in foggers and misting systems. It is recommended that ExciteR be mixed with an insecticide because it is a synergist. It is used to make a product work faster to kill insects. It can be used as a stand alone product for a quick knockdown as well. Both of these products will only kill insects while they are wet, so once the product has dried, there is no residual left behind.
