    In Texas, what is the best thing to kill Johnson Grass growing through felt and granite xeriscape?

    Fertilome Over the Top II is one of the most popular herbicides to kill grasses such as Johnsongrass around landscape ornamentals. We are not sure if it would behave differently in xeriscaping or not, just be sure to check the product label to be sure that your plants will be tolerant to it. Be sure to use a surfactant such as Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker with Over the Top II.

    How much Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker to add to Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer per gallon?

    Different surfactants will offer different ratios and dilutions for various applications and treatments. If you are applying Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker with Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer you will mix 2 to 4 teaspoons per gallon of water to the amount of Fertilome Over the Top needed for your specific application. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions.

    What is a post emergent herbicide that controls grassy and broad leaf weeds in asiatic jasmine?
    A
    You could use a product like Fertilome Over The Top II grass killer to control any grassy weeds currently coming up in the asiatic jasmine ground cover that you have. There are not any post emergent products that can be broadcast over ground covers or ornamentals for broad leaf weeds that wont harm everything you spray it over. You would have to hand pull or spot spray with round up on any broadleaf weeds coming up in the jasmine. To prevent having to treat with a post emergent throughout the year, you can treat with a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent both grassy and broad leaf weeds from coming up in your jasmine. One of our best products for that would be Snapshot.

    Will Over The Top kill or damage Fireweed (Chamerion angustifolium)
    I'm trying to kill the grass in a bed of fireweed

    The Fertilome Over the Top should be safe to be used over the Fireweed. Its not specifically labeled as being tested on that species and you may want to check with the manufacturer VPG to make certain; however its designed to not affect anything considered broadleaf, bushes, flowers or ornamentals and only targt grasses and grassy weeds.     1-galllon cedars dougfirs salal twinberry oregon grape sword fern Indian plum vine maple etc. Pacific northwest natives in general.

    Need a herbicide to spray creeping vine weed in my indian horthorns.
    it is a vine that grows everywhere here in tampa i mostly just pull it out but it comes back. Round up does not kill it.

    When treating for creeping charlie it is best to usually spot treat the growth with a glyphosate or round up type product.  This is the best option if it is growing in ornamental areas or places where you can treat it individually. Follow up application may be neccessary for a complete kill.

    Fertilome Over the Top II is not labeled to treat Torpedo Grass.  Most of the herbicides will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro.

    What is the mixing ratio to kill bermuda grass in a flower bed with a 24 oz spray bottle?

    Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer is only labeled for application using a hose-end or a 1 gallon or larger tank sprayer. In a one gallon hand pump sprayer, use 1 oz. of Over the Top concentrate with 1 oz. of spreader sticker or other surfactant in 1 gallon of water to cover 1,800 square feet of area.

    Fertilome Over the Top II Weed Killer can be sprayed over desired plants listed on product label to control annual and perennial grasses.  It will not work on broadleaf weeds. 
    Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer is a selective, post-emergent herbicide concentrate which controls dozens of broadleaf weeds and other noxious plants susceptible to its active ingredient and might be a better product for you as it is safe on turf.  Please refer to the product label for more information.

    Fertilome Over the Top II Weed Killer should be applied using a surfactant such as the Hi-Yield Spreader Sticker , Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides or other surfactant. We do not recommend applying with vegetable oil.

    Can Over the Top II be used over Peonys without damaging them?

    Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer can be applied to ornamental areas that contain grassy weeds without harming the ornamentals. Peonies are not specifically listed on the product label so we recommend you check with the manufacturer to be completely sure it won't harm them. They can be reached at 855-270-4776.
