  • Asked by Adam from Clovis, Ca
    03/21/2018
    Q
Can Fertilome Triple Action be tank mixed with a water soluble fertilizer?
    A

Fertilome Triple Action can be mixed with a water soluble fertilizer as long as neither product label prohibits doing so.  Keep in mind that the Triple Action is used as a foliar application and most fertilizers are generally soil/root applied, so in order to be able to tank mix these two types of products, you will want to try to find a fertilizer that is also labeled for a foliar application.

    Q
Can Ferti-Lome Triple Action be used on my heuchera?
I have several varities and something is eating holes in the leaves and edges.
    A

Yes, you can use Fertilome Triple Action on ornamentals like heuchera. We would avoid spraying during the heat of the day since this is an oil product and could cause burn on sensitive plants. For best results, you may want to research common issues with these plants or further inspect them for the exact pest that is present.

    Q
Can Ferti-lome Triple Action be used on Hibiscus plants?
I read somewhere not to use a certain fungicide on hibiscus plants but not sure if it's this one. What do y'all suggest
    A

Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil is not recommended to be used on hibiscus due to the sensitive tissues on the hibiscus blossoms. We would recommend contacting your Local Cooperative Extension Office to speak with the Master Gardener on a fungicide recommendation safe for hibiscus plants.

    Q
What is the best DIY insect control for avocado?
    A
We do not know what insects you are trying to control on avacado so we cannot make a completely accurate recommendation for your needs. A common product our customers use for insect and disease control on their edibles is the Fertilome Triple Action Plus. It is a natural/organic product that can be applied every 7-14 days or as needed when conditions for the insects or diseases are present. You can also apply this product up to day of harvest.

    Q
Can I use Fertilome Triple Action Plus for an orange tree where the fruit gets black spots?
    A
We apologize but we do not know what disease this may be on your fruit and how to tell exactly what would be best for it. We would recommend taking a sample to a local master gardener to see if they can identify the disease. Until then, you can use a general fungicide thats safe for all edibles which is Fertilome Triple Action.

  • Asked by Kevin from New Jersey

    Q
Will Fertilome Triple Action control grubs under the soil in a vegetable garden?
I found some white grubs, perhaps Japanese beetle, in my garden and I'm looking for something safe to control them without toxic chemicals.
    A

While Fertilome Triple Action is a fantastic product for a wide variety of insects and safe for vegetable gardens, it is not something to use for grubs in the soil. A better option would be either Milky Spore Powder (if its only japanese beetle grubs) as it is a completely organic grub control product for use in lawns and gardens; Or a product like Imidapro 4SC which is labeled for use on edibles with short pre harvest intervals and will control grubs of all kinds and any other insects trying to do damage to your edibles.

    Q
Why won't my Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil ready to spray bottle work?
    A

Unfortunatley, we do not carry the Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil in a spray bottle. We only carry the concentrate and we are not familiar with the spray bottle.  We would suggest you contact the manufacturer, VPG, at 888-583-5296 for assistance.

  • Asked by Todd from Sacramento, California
    01/20/2017
    Q
Can I mix Fertilome Triple Action with Dormant Oil and apply over winter in California?
    A

When using horticultural oils, we would suggest using only one at a time to avoid damaging your plants. Triple Action has Neem Oil (a horticultural oil derived from the neem tree) plus pyrethrin, a contact insecticide, so it is a combination product with two modes of action. The product label for Triple Action also indicates not to use the product when temperatures are less than 45 degrees. A Dormant Oil is usually applied at a higher concentration during winter months. Be sure to follow the product labels and local recommendations for timing when using horticultural oils. This fact sheet from University of Nevada Copperative Extension has great information about horticultural oils.
