  • Asked by Eva from Miami, Fl

    Q
Can I use Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil on hibiscus?
I have plumeria plants with rust and they are about a foot from my hibiscus hedges. It will be very difficult to spray the plumeria without falling on the hibiscus.
    A

Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil  could harm Hibiscus blossoms because of its sensitive tissues. It would be recommended to apply at the cooler points of the day. Also, on a day that is less windy to help prevent drifting on the Hibiscus.

  • Asked by Jonnie from Merritt Island, Florida
    12/02/2015
    Q
Will Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil kill butterflies or their caterpillars, such as Monarchs?
I have tomato worms and fungus. I have squash worms. I have kale worms...but I have about 8 species of butterflies.
    A

Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil contains both neem oil and pyrethrins, a non-selective insecticide. This product will affect any insects contacted by the direct spray due to the oil and the pyrethrins, so you would want to avoid spraying when pollinators are present. The neem oil alone acts primarily on larval stages of ornamental pests that ingest the active ingredient while feeding, so an option without the pyrethrins would be Bonide Neem Oil Concentrate. Keep in mind that oils may still act as a suffocant to non-target pests.

    A

The Fertilome Triple Action is labeled to be used on any edible plant and non edible plants. It has not specifically been tested for use on Cannibis plants so we cannot say for certain that it would be okay and you may want to check with other local cannabis growers in your area regarding the use of the product on your plants.

  • Asked by Elissa from Carrollton
    07/13/2015
    Q
What is the difference between Triple Action Plus and Triple Action Plus II?
What is the difference in these insecticides? Also the label says the Triple Action Plus is harmful to bees. Is this a "safe" or natural insecticide?
    A

Triple Action Plus/Triple Action Plus II has been remade and is now Fertilome Triple Action with 70% Neem Oil in which they have removed the PBO making it safe for organic gardening as it contains only all natural products.  The Pyrethrin in the Fertilome Triple Action will harm bees if they are in the area during treatment or contact a wet surface after application.  Be sure to apply only in the early morning or late evening to limit the contact with bees.  The product is safe when used as directed on the product label.

  • Asked by Jesus from San Antonio Tx.
    06/24/2015
    Q
Can I use Fertilome Triple Action Plus for an orange tree where the fruit gets black spots?
    A
We apologize but we do not know what disease this may be on your fruit and how to tell exactly what would be best for it. We would recommend taking a sample to a local master gardener to see if they can identify the disease. Until then, you can use a general fungicide thats safe for all edibles which is Fertilome Triple Action.

    Q
What is the best DIY insect control for avocado?
    A
We do not know what insects you are trying to control on avacado so we cannot make a completely accurate recommendation for your needs. A common product our customers use for insect and disease control on their edibles is the Fertilome Triple Action Plus. It is a natural/organic product that can be applied every 7-14 days or as needed when conditions for the insects or diseases are present. You can also apply this product up to day of harvest.
