    Can I put Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone in a sprayer?
    A

    Yes, Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone should be diluted at the rate of 1.5-2 oz. per gallon of water and applied with a hand pump or backpack sprayer.

    Can Weed Free Zone be applied on a the same as I mowed?
    A

     Normally when applying Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone or any type of herbicide you want to delay mowing at least 2-3 days before putting down the product, and then 2-3 days after as well to give the grass full time to absorb the application.

    How soon after I spray Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone for morningglory can I pull up the dead weeds?

    Weeds that have been treated with Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone would need to be completely dead before pulling, which may take up to 2-6 weeks and may require additional treatments if mature.

    I put Zoysia in about 11 weeks ago. Have cut 6 times and lawn is healthy except for weeds coming up in the seems. Is it safe to apply?

    Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is safe to apply to newly sodded lawns that have been mowed at least twice, or 4 weeks has passed since the sod was put down.

    Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is safe when used as directed and pets and people are out of the area during application.  Treated areas are safe to return once dry, typically after 4-6 hours.

    Will Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone kill the grass also?

    Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone is a selective herbicide so it won't harm your lawn when used as directed on the product label. It can be applied to cool season grasses like Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescue, Red or Fine Leaf Fescues, Colonial Bentgrass, and mixtures of cool season species.

    Can Weed Free Zone be used to treat a rock garden to prevent weeds from growing, not just kill existing weeds
    I have a large rock area that I would like to spray to prevent new weeds from growing. I understand the product is used to kill existing weeds but want to know if I can used it to prevent new weed growth by spraying my rock areas.

    The Fertilome Weed Free Zone is only a post emergent herbicide and will only kill existing weeds.  It will not prevent any from growing. Surlan is our most popular pre-emergent product for rock landscapes.

    Can I use Fertilome Weed Free Zone in my strawberry patch to kill weeds/grass?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is not labeled to be used around strawberries. Fertilome Over the Top II Grass Killer can be used on and around strawberry plants but it can only be used once per season.

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone will not haem Buffalo grass. Be sure to review the product label for application. You want to use .75-1.5 oz per 1000 sq feet.

    Is Fertilome Weed Free Zone labeled for sandburs? If not what pre-emergent product is good for sandburs?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is not labeled to control sand burs.  For pre-emergent control you could use a product called Prodiamine 65 WDG.

    How is Fertilome Weed Free Zone applied?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is a liquid concentrate, so you will need to mix it with water and apply with a hand pump sprayer.  You will mix at the rate of 1.5 oz - 2 oz. per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft.  Please see the product label for complete application instructions for the specific weeds you need to treat.

    How long after seeding a new lawn can I apply Fertilome Weed Free Zone to it?

    If Fertilome Weed Free Zone hits lightly on several stems of dwarf box woods, will it kill them, or do I just have to remove the branches affected?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone may harm desirable bushes if contact is made with the foliage.  While it may not kill the entire tree, it could kill the leaves sprayed and those branches may need to be removed.
