For how long is soil contaminated for food plants after Casoron application?

My neighbor applied Casoron in his yard last fall. Consequently, my raspberry bushes died for 4-6 feet from the fence line. Is it safe to eat raspberries this year from remaining plants? How soon can I replant in that area?

Answer:

Casoron 4G Herbicide is actually labeled to be used around established raspberries so it would be fine around any that survived and bears fruit.  Since it can stay in the soil for at least 1 year, you would need to wait at least one year after application to replant or remove the treated soil and replace with new.
