What's the best treatment for termites in my bedroom closet?

For Direct Injection into termite and ant nests and galleries, structural voids, and other sites. Fuse Foam is the latest addition to the Control Solutions Inc. Q
Is Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide the best product for my situation?
I have a 100+ year old brick house in which the wood flooring is very close to ground level and the crawlspace is too small to actually crawl in, so is basically inaccessible. There was a problem in the last year with an exterior wall just above grade level that allowed rainwater to get into the wall and presumably to seep into the ground below the floor as well. The wall has now been repaired but while I'm waiting for things to dry out, I'm concerned that the lingering dampness could invite termite infestation. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to spray something into the void to prevent termites and, if so, if this would be the product to use or if something else would be better. Thank you
    A

Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide will not penetrate wood and the residual left behind will only last for about 6 weeks at most. You need to use Bora-Care as a foam application in a foamer with foaming agentBora-Care will penetrate several inches in to the wood and it will last for the life of the wood.

    Q
How many square feet does one can of Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide cover?
    A

Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticde Insecticide has a 30:1 expansion ratio.  It would depend on how  many spots you are treating with it as to how much area it would cover.  If sprayed continuously, the can would would fill a 5 gallon bucket with foam when fully expanded.

    Q
    Fuse vs Termidor Foam
How does this compare to Termidor Foam? Is this just the generic version?
    A

Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide is similar to Termidor Foam, but there are some key differences. While Termidor Foam contains fipronil as the active ingredient, Fuse Foam has both fipronil and imidacloprid, so you get two active ingredients. The Fuse Foam can has also been redesigned so that you can apply the product using only one hand instead of having the use one hand to hold the dispensing tube like you do with the Termidor Foam

    Q
I have drywood termites that created a kick-out hole in my interior drywall. What can I use to treat this area?

Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide can be used to directly spot treat an active infestation. You may need to drill the hole larger to ensure the tip fits.

    Q
Can Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide be used in tree stumps in which termites are feeding?
    A

Yes, Fuse Foam Ready To Use Termiticide Insecticide is labeled to be used in tree stumps where termites are harboring.

    Per the product label:

Drill 1 or more holes into areas of suspected termite or ant activity. It may be necessary to drill several holes around the circumference of the stump or utility pole, to properly treat the nest or gallery system. When treating below slabs, drill 1 or more holes through the slab where termites or carpenter ants are active, or suspected, and inject this product. For fences, treat exposed surfaces with this product where termites or ants are active (IMPORTANT: the foam must dissipate or excess foam must be removed before the applicator leaves the area) and/or drill wooden members where termites or ants are active, or suspected, and apply this product

    Q
What is the best termiticide product to treat my porch roof that is re infested with termites after fumigation with Vicane Gas?
We recently tented the home after termites were found on the enclosed porch FLAT roof. (Vicane gas) I still find residual pellets on my white furniture coming through the wood ceiling. How do I make sure I don't have a re infestation and would spraying the roof vents with Termidor work? I could foam through the small holes inside the room?
    A

If you have Subterreanean Termites, you may treat the active colony directly with a termiticide foam such as Fuse Foam that is a combination of the best active ingredients for termite control (Fipronil & Imidacloprid). In addition to spot treating inside the wall void where the active colony is, we recommend doing a perimeter trench treatment with Taurus SC around the exterior of the home. Taurus SC is the generic form of Termidor SC and available in 20oz & 78oz bottles. You can view our How to Treat for Subterreanean Termite tutorial video here.

Though fumigation kills all termites inside the house, the droppings will still be inside the termite galleries or tunnels inside the wood. Through constant movement of the house, for example, doors closing hard, natural movements, and the gravitational pull, you will still see termite droppings occasionally so this may be the case and not a reinfestation.

    Q
I am waiting for my Fuse Foam to arrive. Should the termite mud tubes be destroyed in the meantime?
What is the best way to apply the foam? Will I need anything else?
    A

We would recommend to not destroy the tube completely.  You can always pull a piece of the tunnel away and if it is still an active termite tunnel, they will rebuild/repair the pulled away part. Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide should be used to treat the voids around the window, along the wall, in ceilings, etc.  Here is our video on How to Foam for Termites. We would also suggest trenching around the exterior foundation for complete treatment and 10-year barrier protection against termites.

Can I apply Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide outside between my garage and driveway?
    A

No, Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide cannot be used to treat outside areas.  It is recommended to apply Taurus SC as a trench treatment against the foundation and drilling across any concrete surfaces. Please review the How to Treat for Termite Guide for more information.

  • Asked by Tim from Biloxi, Ms
    11/16/2020
    Q
Would Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide be appropriate to treat bath trap areas in a concrete slab?
Or should a liquid (Taurus) be used to soak the area?
    A

Per the label, Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticde Insecticide can be used in areas where termites are known or suspected. Apply Fuse Foam to termite galleries, channels, damaged wood, harborages between structural elements or within construction voids. Indoor termiticide treatment locations may include areas associated with unexposed wooden elements inside wall voids, in and around bath traps, shower voids, pipe chases, utility penetrations and other probable sites of termite entry or harborage. So Fuse Foam will be appropriate if you're making an application to an area where you suspect/know of termite activity.

Because concrete is a porous surface, an application of Taurus SC may be better, per the label: Bath traps: Treat exposed soil or soil covered with tar or similar sealants beneath or around plumbing and/or drain pipe entry areas with a minimum of 1 gallon but not more than 4 gallons of finished dilution per square foot. It may be necessary to remove tar or sealant to ensure adequate soil penetration. Install an access door or inspection portal if one is not already present. After inspection and removal of all wood or cellulose debris, treat the soil by rodding or drenching with the finished dilution of Taurus SC.

    Q
Can Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide be used more than once?
Most gap foam sealants are a one time shot, nozzle and applicator clog up and then are useless. Can this product be used more than a one time shot?
    A

Fuse Foam Ready-to-Use Termiticide Insecticide can be used more than once and has a shelf life of about 1-2 years when stored in a cool dry place. Keep in mind that this product is an insecticide with a foaming agent, so it will dry clear. It does NOT fill gaps or dry as a hard substance.
