Fusilade II Herbicide is safe to use over crepe myrtle, camelia, and many types of roses when used according to the product label. Be careful only to use a non-ionic surfactant and not a crop oil concentrate when applying Fusilade over the top of ornamentals.
Fusilade II Herbicide should not be applied in temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. It can be applied in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are not as high. It is not recommended that you apply in the heat of the day.
When stored in a temperature controlled environment and out of direct sunlight, the shelf life of Fusilade II Herbicide is 3-5 years.
No, Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled for tulips or cannas. We would recommend using Snapshot 2.5 TG. Apply Snapshot 2.5 TG to the soil surface 2 to 4 weeks after planting, but prior to the emergence of annual weeds. For complete information, please refer to the product label.
Fusilade II Herbicide can be safely used in a non residential tall fescue lawn to eliminate crabgrass and suppress and control bermudagrass. Keep in mind crabgrass control this time of year is particularly difficult and may require multiple applications, and bermuda will take multiple applications as well due to how well it spreads. For a residential lawn, Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide can be used to control Bermuda grass and crabgrass in fescue. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Fusilade II Herbicide is not labeled to be used around edible vegetation or pumpkins.
Fusilade II is labeled for use around iris and when used as directed should not harm them.
Depending on what you are trying to target the Fusilade II Herbicide is safe to be used on zoysia that is established whether it is actively growing or dormant. However, anything you may be trying to eliminate from the zoysia grass will likely not be affected by the Fusilade application if all of the plants are in a dormant state due to the time of year and ground temperatures. Fusilade is a post emergent herbicide and will only control grasses that are in a fully actively growing state. When you do apply the Fusilade, be sure to use a Non Ionic Surfactant for best results.
Per the Fusilade Product Label for use on Zoysiagrass:
Over-spray Zoysia: Application should be made at a rate of 3-4 fl oz/A with Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide, and a nonionic surfactant. Applications should be made in late spring (around June 1) and repeated about every 28-30 days. Latesummer application can be reduced to 2-3 fl oz/A as bermudagrass is preparing for dormancy. During hot summer weather the rates could be increased to 4-5 fl oz/A. Note: The 5 fl oz rate could cause temporary turf discoloration.
We are not aware of either product making grass more susceptible to frost damage, but Fusilade II Herbicide is a grass killer and is not labeled as safe to apply to Kentucky Bluegrass. While it is labeled for removing bermudagrass, this is only in Tall Fescue and Zoysia Lawns. It does state on the product label that it is not for use on home lawns as well. We would recommend reseeding the area.
Per the Fusilade II product label instructions by the manufacturer:
For established turf, do not reseed desired grasses to treated areas for 14 days following the application. For bare ground areas which have been treated, wait 30 days to reseed.
No, Fusilade II Herbicide listed bottle brush as tolerable to applications of the product. Fusilade is only used for killing perennial and annual grass weeds in turf and landscaped areas.
Fusilade II Herbicide is safe to apply to a variety of different flowers. You can find a list of all of these on pages 9-29 of the product label.
Fusilade II is not specifically labeled for peanut ground cover. We recommend contacting Syngenta 866 796 4368 to verify Fusilade II will be great fit for you.
Fusilade II Herbicide is NOT labeled, nor safe, to use around edibles. Fusilade II may only be used in landscape areas, roadsides, nurseries, greenhouses, flower beds, groundcovers, interiorscapes, parks, sports fields, gold courses, commercial and residential areas. Instead you can use a nonselective product like Glyphosel Pro taking care to avoid contact with the tree/roots themselves.
We would not recommend spraying Fusilade II Herbicide within 10 feet of the bee hive. Avoid spraying when bees are active to prevent contact, so apply early morning or late evening.
Fusilade II is not labeled as safe to be used on Centipede lawns. While it is labeled to target torpedograss, it requires multiple applications at the highest labeled rates, and offers suppression of bermuda. Bonide Grass Beater Over the Top Grass Killer, however, is labeled for use on centipedegrass and will target bermuda and torpedograss as well as many other grass species.
Fusilade II Herbicide can be applied as an over the top application on purple trailing, rose and red spike ice plants per product label instructions.
Fusilade II Herbicide will also harm St. Augustine grasses. It may be best to spot treat with Roundup. Also consider reseeding/resod.
