    Q
How do I get rid of the bermuda out of a st augustine grass?
    A
Since the plant DNA between Bermuda and St Augustine grasses are so similar, you can not remove one from the other without harming both. The best way to control this is to use a Glyphosate product like Gly-Pho Sel Pro to kill out the spots in your yard that have the Bermuda coming up and reseed in those areas with St Augustine.

    Q
What chemical will control dog fennel in a blackberry orchard?
I have 200 blackberry plants that have been overtaken by dog fennel.
    A

Unfortunately there is not a chemical that we are aware of that would kill the dogfennel and not also kill the blackberry plants.  You could use a glyphosate based product, but care should be taken to not spray the blackberry plants as they could also be killed.

    Q
Can I use Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant to kill crabweed grass, vines, shrubs, brushes and tree stumps?
I would like to limit the amount of grass and/or eliminate the grass, vines, shrubs and brushes on my property. After it rains.. everything grows quickly..
    A

Gly Pho-Sel Pro is a non-selective herbicide, which means that it will affect any plant that you spray with it, including grasses and vines at a higher rate. If are treating a lot of brush or direct treatment of stumps then we would recommend using Crossbow Herbicide for those applications. Keep in mind that you can only prevent new growth on freshly cut stumps; no herbicide is a substitute for removal of the stumps.

    Q
What herbicide can be used for Autumn olive/Russian olive and Poison ivy?
    Fence row control
    A

For fence row control of Autumn Olive, Crossbow Herbicide would be a great option. You can also use a non-selective herbicide such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant for this weed as well as Poison Ivy and Russian Olive.

  • Asked by John from Nanticoke, Pa
    03/14/2019
    Q
Can I start spraying Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant now? How many months is the control good for? Will this kill all types of weeds?
    A

Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant will kill grass, weeds, and ornamentals. It should not be applied to desired lawns, plants, flowers, etc. It does not remain in the soil (contain a residual) after being applied and should be applied directly to the foliage of the weeds you are trying to eliminate. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results and you may notice visible effects on most annual weeds occur within 2 to 4 days. Keep in mind that this is only a post-emergent herbicide; it does not prevent new weeds from germinating.

  • Asked by Bob from Gladys, Va
    08/02/2015
    Q
How do I kill Johnson Grass in my Orchard Grass hay field?
    A

Unfortunately, Johnson grass and Orchard grass are both perennial grasses. Therefore, we are unaware of any selective herbicide that would kill the Johnson grass and not harm the Orchard grass. In this instance we would recommend spot treating the Johnson grass with a non selective glyphosate herbicide such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro with 41% Glyphosate and reseeding.  Please be sure to read the product label for complete use instructions before use.

  • Asked by Rich from Fort Myers, Fl
    02/23/2015
    Q
Can you recommend a product to kill Bermuda grass in Floratam, St Augustine grass?
    A
Unfortunately Bermuda grass is so closely related to St. Augustine grass that there is nothing that will remove Bermuda from St. Augustine and not hurt the Bermuda as well.  In your situation it is recommended to spot treat the Bermuda with a glyphosate product and kill it directly, and then replant St. Augustine in those areas. GlyPhoSel Pro would be a good one to use.

  • Asked by Karen from Lake Villa, Il

    Q
I am trying to find a herbicide to kill Creeping Charlie.
It should contain triclopyr which contains Weed B Gon Purple, Weed B Gon Chickweed and Weed B GonMax. ,
    A
You can use a Glyphosate product like Glyphosel pro to spot treat. Tenacity is labeled to control Ground Ivy "Creeping Charlie" as post emergent control. We highly recommend using a temporary turf colorant like Turf Mark Blue so that you can see where you spray with the Tenacity to avoid overlapping. Tenacity is a great product, but also a very strong product so too much overlapping or mixing the product too strong can cause temporary damage and whitening to your turf around the ground ivy. The color will come back in the lawn after 3-4 weeks but to avoid this potential problem it is best to use a colorant to make sure no overlap occurs. To get optimum results for post emergent control it is recommended you use a Non Ionic Surfactant in your mixture as well.

    Q
Can I use Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant on Fescue grass in Virginia?
    A

Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant is a non-selective herbicide so it should NOT be applied to desired Fescue (will kill the lawn grass). You can spot treat with weeds and reseed those areas if needed. Please refer to the product label for details on rates and full application instructions.

  • Asked by Maria from Wylie

    Q
Will Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant kill dallisgrass?
I have half an acre of Bermuda and 30% of it is dallisgrass. Best route to tackle this problem? Dallisgrass grass is in full effect already.
    A

Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant  will kill dallisgrass, and anything else that it touches. Dallisgrass is a weed that is notoriously difficult to eradicate quickly once it is established. A better option woud be Certainty Herbicide or Dismiss NXT Herbicide . Both are labeled to suppress dallisgrass in bermudagrass as directed on the product label.  To prevent it coming back you would use a pre-emergent herbicide such as the Dimension 2EW.

  • Asked by Tom from Cochranville, Pa
    09/21/2017
    Q
Is Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant the best weed and grass (all vegetation) to use along a fence row?
    A

The best product would likely be a non-selective weed killer such as Gly Pho-Sel Pro. Gly Pho-Sel Pro with 41% Glyphosate is a high quality fast acting systemic total vegetation weed killer. Sprayed on weeds and grasses, Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% starts working fast, within 1-2 hours, and kills weeds and grasses on contact, roots and all.

    Q
If I spray this product on rocks around my pond to kill the existing weeds, does the product prevent other
    weeds from growing?
    A
Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant will not prevent weeds from growing. It will burn the weeds you apply it to down.  We DO NOT recommed to use near aquatic life. Diquat would be a better choice.

    Q
Plan to do a total kill on hayfield and sprig with hybrid bermuda. Can you advise on the mixture and rate per
Total kill on hayfield and sprig with hybrid bermuda. Parts per water and amount per acre?
    A

Per the product label, for burndown of bermudagrass, apply Gly Pho-Sel Pro 41% with Surfactant at 1 to 2 quarts of this product in 3 to 20 gallons of water per acre. Use this treatment only if reduction of the bermudagrass stand can be tolerated. When burndown is required prior to harvest, allow at least 21 days to ensure sufficient time for burndown to occur.
