    Will Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide work to remove Bermuda from my centipede lawn?

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide could harm Centipede grass as it is not labeled for it. This product is mainly used in and around groundcovers ornamental beds, landscape beds etc. We apologize, but we actually do not carry a product that is labeled to remove Bermuda grass from Centipede. The only suggestion we can give is to kill the Bermuda with a glyphosate product and then re-seed the centipede in those areas.

    Common Bermuda grass is invading our fairways in Southwest FL.

    Can you spray Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide across an entire zoysia lawn to kill bermudagrass?

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide can be applied to zoysiagrass to control bermudagrass and will not harm the zoysia.  Be sure to follow the instructions on the product label for best results.

    Will Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide harm Floratam St. Augustine turfgrass that is mixed with some bermuda grass?

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is primarily to treat grassy weeds in landscape beds, ornamentals, flowers, etc and not labeled to be used on Floratam St. Augustine or other turfgrasses. It can be used to treat bermudagrass in zoysiagrass or tall fescue lawns.  

    Avenue South Broadleaf Herbicide for Turfgrass is labeled to control broadleaf weeds in Cool and Warm Season turfgrasses including Floratam St. Augustine, Common St. Augustine, and Bermuda. Please review the product label for the target weeds and application rates.

    Is it suitable for use in sugarcane crop to remove the bermuda grass?

    No, Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is not labeled to be used in edible crops. Please consult with your local agricultural department for a recommendation in sugarcane rows.

    Can Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide be sprayed on Centipede grass to control Bermuda grass?

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is not labeled for use on Centipede grass and could harm the Centipede. It's mainly for use in and around groundcovers, ornamental beds, etc. The fact that Centipede is so sensitive, we would recommend to spot treat the Bermuda using a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro. Be sure that you treat Bermuda when it is actively growing and not when it is dormant.

    Will Ornamec kill bahia grass? Trying to kill bermuda grass in a bahia pasture

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is labeled to treat bermudagrass but does not list that it can be used in pastures or on bahia grass. We would recommend contacting PBI Gordon directly at 816-421-4070 for clarification on pastures or bahia grass.

    Can I use Ornamec 170 to spot treat Bermuda grass without causing harm to my bahiagrass?
    I have large patches and isolated spots of Bermuda grass in my Bahia lawn.

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide can only be used on cool season turf to remove bermuda, it can also injure the bahia.  There is no selective product to remove one from the other really.   Your best option would be to spot treat with a glyphosate based product and then reseed/sod the areas

    Will Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide have any negative or harmful effects on Milkweed that I am trying to protect?

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is not labeled to safely be applied to milkweed and will likely cause harm to it therefore we woud not advise applying in or around milkweed.

    For recommendations, we recommend contacting the Master Gardener Division with your County Extension Office for suggestions on a selective herbicide safe for Milkweed.

    Can Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide be used on my lawn? I have about a 5' patch that just gets bigger every year.

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide can only be used to control Bermuda grass on Tall Fescue and Zoysia grass and to control Dallisgrass on Tall Fescue. Otherswise it is to be used for the control of grassy weeds in groundcovers, shrubs, trees, landscape beds, ornamental beds, tree wells, fence lines and others.

    Gordons Ornamec Over-The-Top Grass Herbicide is a selective post-emergent systemic herbicide that will provide excellent control over unwanted grasses in and around groundcovers, shrubs, trees, landscape beds, container yards and grower nursery fields. It will not target dandelions or other broadleaf weeds. These will need to be spot treated very carefully with a non-selective when actively growing (selective options are available for lawns).

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide is used to eliminate bermudagrass in tall fescue and zoysiagrass turfgrass only. This product is primarily for treating grassy weeds in landscape beds, flowers, bushes, shrubs and around ornamentals.

    Can Gordons Ornamec 170 kill Bermuda and not harm bluegrass or rescue?
    Bermuda has taken over my large yard of bluegrass and rescue.

    Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide  should not be applied to Kentucky Bluegrass nor rescuegrass to suppress Bermuda.  Turflon Ester is an option to treat bermuda in cool season turf.

    If I just seeded, how long should I wait for the new TTTF to have established before I can use Ornamec 170?

    You should wait at least 30 days, or mow the area 2-3 times before whichever is longer, to apply to newly seeded Tall Fescue before using Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide .
