Works for clover food plots

It works really well
By John on 06/03/2022
First off, the included pamphlets are very detailed and you might need to calculate the proper application for your situation. All that being said, I read a review that said to use 0.4 fluid ounces per gallon of mixture with 0.35 fluid ounces of a surfactant. This calculation was correct for my application once I worked out the proper rate from the pamphlets. I have an atv mounted 20 gallon sprayer that I use to spray food plots and around the house for all my needs. I needed this product to treat a field of sunflowers for wildlife on my property. I mixed the recommended rate that I received on this website and it really worked! All the field grasses were killed with the sunflowers looking not to be scathed. The product does take some time to work so don't expect a 24 hour turn around like some herbicides promote. It takes about a week to 10 days to work. I'm very happy with this product and this website to provide the insight into the specific application for my needs. I am now thinking to use this product on my flowerbeds and garden beds that get infested with grasses after I work so hard to prepare the areas. I'm going to research the provided pamphlets to ensure I'm mixing the correct dosage but this website does provide a valuable resource with their expertise.

For use in new pollinator forbs planting
By Krisi on 05/19/2023
I was have issues with brome, bermuda, and johnson grass popping up in a new pollinator planting and could not use glyphosate due to damage the seedling forbs would suffer. Someone experienced in land management told me about this product and so far it has not harmed the forbs. I mixed on the lower side but it seems to be doing the job.

It works

Grass Killers usually take longer to work much longer than your average weed killer which you see results in 3 days if not the next day grasses are different. It's not unusual to see products like this which is grass only killer work the way they do for the length of time it takes.
Does what it is supposed to do
By James on 09/29/2023
Although we are in the beginning stages of a drought, and the grass that needed spraying was stressed and tough, I decided to spray the my strawberries and around my blueberry plants. At first there did not seem to be any grass that appeared stressed. Then we got a quick shower and the younger grass began to yellow and then died. The older grass and Bermuda grass have begun yellowing. This means that the Grass Out spray is trans-locating to the roots and the yellow grass will die. Even long strands of Bermuda Grass which are growing out over gravel are yellowing and will ultimately kill the host plant to its roots. Grass Out is a great product that is deadly to grass and not harmful to my strawberry plants and to other broad leaf of the same type.
excellent

I used a lawn company till this year, my problem has always been Poa Annu Bluegrass. bought this product appplied 1 oz per gallon with my hose end sprayer results were visible 2-3 days after use. Use a sufflant also. bought the smaller size this time but will buy the bigger next year for two applications at separate times. NO MORE LAWN COMPANIES WASTING MY TIME AND MONEY!
Killed my Crabgrass!
By Brian on 04/12/2024
We recently had our sod removed and replaced with Perineal Peanut and Sunshine Mimosa. I was having a problem with Crabgrass growing within the ground covers and decided to try Grass Out Max. I tested a few areas and found that Grass Out Max really works as advertised. About a week after applying the grass blades started to look a little greyish in color. Within two weeks the grass was dead with no harm to the ground covers.
Highly effective grass killer
By Jonathan on 05/17/2024
This is an over-the-top grass killer, meaning it won't affect most non-grass plants so you can spray it on weedy grass that is growing in beds among desirable plants. I sprayed it on heavy infestations of torpedo grass. The first effects showed at 7 days when the tips of the grass died. After about 2 weeks most of the grass appears totally dead and there was no effect on the surrounding desirable plants. I was impressed with this product and highly recommend it.

This stuff works!

I'm using this to control weeds on my lawn, which is not grass but mini-clover. It has really helped us create a lovely clover lawn. In fact, if is full of little white clover flowers, which will eventually re-seed the lawn and ensure a robust result. Price is right, too.
Give it time.

Used to kill grass growing around an up through my my young arborvitae. Did an excellent job just needed to be patient. It took me two to three weeks to see the results. Applied at labeled rates for hand spraying: Clethodim - 0.33 oz to 0.65oz per gallon Non-ionic surfactant - 0.33 oz per gallon

Works great!
By Jake on 08/19/2018
I've tried a few other products to eliminate the grasses from beds of myrtle and other ground covers. Nothing seemed to work. After two applications of the Grass Out Max, the unwanted grasses are disappearing from view. The little bit of die-back in the perimeter lawn areas was not unexpected. I used a wetting agent to ensure good contact with the grass blades. Total success might not be evident for a couple of months, but results to date have been very positive.
Clover yard
By Christopher on 06/08/2019
I have used this product twice. The first time more as a test to see if it damaged recently planted clover. I choose an area in my yard where grass had completely taken over the clever. In about a week the grass turned yellow then dried out. The clover is starting to grow better. The second time was only four days ago. About half of the grass is yellow and the clover is looking good. I mixed a little more than an ounce to 5 gallons of water and some surfactant. I may spray again in a week.

Great results!
By Ken on 07/05/2019
Sprayed 12 Oz/Acre 8 hours before a 1/2 inch of rain and almost all grass in my food plot turned brown within 1 week. Remaining grass was brown and dead by the end of 2nd week. Plot was planted 4 weeks before application and has clover, winter peas, alfalfa and turnips which never showed signs of stress.

Clean up your clover plot
By John on 05/27/2020
I sprayed 3 gallons via a backpack sprayer on my clover plot on 5-18 20. Was back out there today, 5-27-20, and the grasses were looking like there are heading for being dead. It is not an instantaneous kill but it is working like it should. The clover looks great with all the grasses dying out. I am very pleased.

Dang it I wish I could remember the lady's name that helped me out when I called. Anyway not knowing what kind of junipers I had as well as what kind of grassy weeds I had, she pointed me to grass out max, long story short, 1/2oz to a gallon (which I trusted her, ( I felt like it wouldn't be enough put I trusted her :) with in 2 - 3 weeks it knocked out the weeds without effecting my junipers. awesome stuff, highly recommend.
“Grass Out Max” Works!
By Alfredthesemi-great on 09/10/2021
This is a herbicide that is specific to grass species. Does not harm most other types of plants. BUT read the very detailed instructions carefully!! Some (a few) ornamental plants could damaged by this Grass Out Max, and there is a comprehensive list in the instructions. I used this in flower beds/landscaping where invasive grasses like Bermuda were growing in and around desired ornamental plants. I have seen a pretty good kill of the grasses. However, my area was starting to get pretty dry when I sprayed. The instructions will tell you Grass Out Max is effective on actively growing grass, but not as effective on drought-stressed grass. I have a few areas I will have to respray after the grass gets some water. Two things to know: this Grass Out Max has to have time to travel through the grass blades (leaves) down into the roots. You won't see the grass dying for several days. Be patient, it's working. Second, shield adjacent lawn grass areas from the spray ( I sprayed with a 2 gallon tank garden sprayer), use a tarp or something similar. Remove right after you spray, and be careful not to allow the part of the tarp that has wet spray on it to drag over the grass. Overall very satisfied with results I got.
