Product Overview

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is a broadleaf weed control product that will kill more than 100 different types of weeds, including the more difficult to kill perennials, like nightshades and bull nettles. Quickly killing the existing weeds and keeping them from coming back, the product also works great with liquid fertilizers and can be safely used around grazing areas of livestock, Conservation Reserve Program land and wildlife management areas. GrazonNext HL Herbicide also comes with no restriction for any kind of livestock, including beef cattle, goats, horses, nursing dairy animals, and sheep and won't harm desirable grasses like bahiagrass, bermudagrass, fescue, orchard and other mixed native grasses. Just follow the directions on the bottom description on what rate of dilution is required to kill your problem weed and your property will be weed free in no time. The product works great with brush control herbicides, like Remedy Ultra, which can be mixed and applied at the same time, massively reducing the time it takes to undertake an integrated vegetation management program.

Only apply this product if the wind direction favors on-target deposition and there are not sensitive areas (including, but not limited to, residential areas, bodies of water, known habitat for nontarget species, nontarget crops) within 250 feet downwind.

This product replaces Forefront HL Herbicide.

Be careful if using for hay or manure from treated fields

    By Gail on 08/05/2019

Be very careful using Aminopyralid. if the cows or horse eat the grass treated or hay treated it passes thru intact. Lost a large part of my tomatoes and potatoes to composted cow manure that contained was contaminated by this. Minute concentrations of picloram, clopyralid and aminopyralid, as low as 1 ppb (parts per billion), can be lethal to sensitive garden plants such as peas, beans, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes. Takes years and years to get cleared from soil. Only good plant to put in affected garden soil is corn.

Test results used on Bahia grass hay.

    By Edward on 06/03/2018

I am testing this product on three types of weeds that are affecting the quality of my hay fields. Our LSU AgCenter agent listed GrazonNext HL as one of the Herbicides used in their test to control "Horsenettle, Johnson Grass, and Pigweed". So far my test are showing control of all three. I plan to treat all fields next year. Thanks for a great product.

Q
How much GrazonNext HL Herbicide per gallon of water to kill creeping indigo?
A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide does not actually list that it controls creeping indigo so we are not able to provide a rate.  There is an article here with advice on using it that might be helpful.

Q
How much GrazonNext HL Herbicide would be needed to treat horsenettle in a 300 gallon sprayer?
A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is applied at 19-24 fl oz per acre (43,560 sq ft) for horsenettle.  Depending on how much area the 300 gallons of water covers and how much area you need to treat, that will depend on the water volume.

The minimum amount of water recommended on the product label for Ground Broadcast applications is 10 gallons of water per acre however higher spray volumes (greater than 10 gallons per acre) generally provides better coverage and better control, particularly in dense and/or tall foliage.

Q
What is an average tank size for pasture sprayer recommended for 30 arcs pasture

I'm looking into purchasing or building a pasture spray rig looking at both boomless and boomed options that I'm not having to stop and go fill back up every 20 min I've currently a 40 gallon set up

A

Tpyically, truck spray rigs are 25, 50, or 100 gallon tanks. Keep in mind that larger tanks may require more agitation ability since you would be refilling less frequently. Usually for herbicides you should use at least 30 gallons of water per Acre for most applications. There are likely larger tanks for more complex systems with mechanical booms, however, we do not specialize in this type of agricultural equipment.

Q
I need to know how much GrazonNext HL Herbicide to put into my 3 gallon back pack sprayer to spot treat iron weed?
A

The amount of GrazonNext HL Herbicide can vary based on how much water is required to thoroughly spray the foliage to the point of run off.  It is advised that the total amount of GrazonNext HL applied broadcast, as a re-treatment, and/or spot treatment per year must not exceed 2.1 pints (34 fluid oz) per acre. Spot treatments may be applied at an equivalent broadcast rate of up to 4.2 pints (68 fluid oz) per acre of GrazonNext HL per annual growing season; however, not more than 50% of an acre may be treated at that rate.  For ironweed the rate is 24 to 34 fl oz per acre.  If it takes you 20 gallons of water to cover an acre, the 3 gallon rate is as follows 3.6 fl oz ot 5.1 fl oz.  Please refer to Table 1 and Table 2 on pages 4 & 5 of the product label for the rates if it takes higher amounts of water.

Q
Will GrazonNext HL Herbicide kill nettles?
A

Yes, GrazonNext HL Herbicide is applied at 19-34 fl oz per acre (43,560 sq ft) for horse nettle/bull nettle. The amount of water will depend on how much will cover a 1,000 sq ft uniformly, usually 1-2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft. Be sure to review the full product label before use since there are many restrictions regarding the use of this herbicide.

Q
How much Grazon Next HL do I put in a 55 gallon tank to spray milk weed and wooly croton? I have 30 acres.

The mixing rates on label are very hard to understand. Don't want to use too much.

A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled to treat for milkweed but for woolly croton the rate range per the label is 1.2 to 1.5 pints (19 to 24 oz) per acre.  Best weed control results are obtained when spray volume is sufficient to provide uniform coverage of treated plants. The amount of water is not set and is however much water it takes for you to cover the acre.  It could be at least 20 gallons of water up to 100 gallons.

For milkweed it appears that glyphosate is the best product for it but it could also kill anything desirable that it is sprayed to so care should be taken if used.
