Product Overview

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is a broadleaf weed control product that will kill more than 100 different types of weeds, including the more difficult to kill perennials, like nightshades and bull nettles. Quickly killing the existing weeds and keeping them from coming back, the product also works great with liquid fertilizers and can be safely used around grazing areas of livestock, Conservation Reserve Program land and wildlife management areas. GrazonNext HL Herbicide also comes with no restriction for any kind of livestock, including beef cattle, goats, horses, nursing dairy animals, and sheep and won't harm desirable grasses like bahiagrass, bermudagrass, fescue, orchard and other mixed native grasses. Just follow the directions on the bottom description on what rate of dilution is required to kill your problem weed and your property will be weed free in no time. The product works great with brush control herbicides, like Remedy Ultra, which can be mixed and applied at the same time, massively reducing the time it takes to undertake an integrated vegetation management program.

Only apply this product if the wind direction favors on-target deposition and there are not sensitive areas (including, but not limited to, residential areas, bodies of water, known habitat for nontarget species, nontarget crops) within 250 feet downwind.

This product replaces Forefront HL Herbicide.

Be careful if using for hay or manure from treated fields

    By Gail on 08/05/2019

Be very careful using Aminopyralid. if the cows or horse eat the grass treated or hay treated it passes thru intact. Lost a large part of my tomatoes and potatoes to composted cow manure that contained was contaminated by this. Minute concentrations of picloram, clopyralid and aminopyralid, as low as 1 ppb (parts per billion), can be lethal to sensitive garden plants such as peas, beans, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes. Takes years and years to get cleared from soil. Only good plant to put in affected garden soil is corn.

Test results used on Bahia grass hay.

    By Edward on 06/03/2018

I am testing this product on three types of weeds that are affecting the quality of my hay fields. Our LSU AgCenter agent listed GrazonNext HL as one of the Herbicides used in their test to control "Horsenettle, Johnson Grass, and Pigweed". So far my test are showing control of all three. I plan to treat all fields next year. Thanks for a great product.

Q
Can I spray GrazonNext HL Herbicide near (3 feet away) some fruit trees?

Does the chemical spread thru the soil? Would it harm the trees and would the fruit be safe to consume?

A

GrazonNext should not be used around desirable crops. Per the GrazonNext HL Herbicide label, you should avoid application under conditions that may allow spray drift because very small quantities of spray, which may not be visible, may seriously injure crops.  Susceptible crops include, but are not limited to, cotton, okra, flowers, fruit trees, grapes (in growing stage), fruit trees (foliage), soybeans (vegetative stage), ornamentals, sunflowers, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables, or tobacco. Because it is a post-emergent herbicide,  it can be used any time the weeds are in an actively growing state. If the weeds are apparent now, then you can use the product now to try and eliminate them.

Q
What is the best time of year to apply Grazon?
A

Per the product labelGrazonNext HL provides preemergence control of germinating seeds or emerging seedlings of susceptible weeds and re-growth of certain perennial weeds following application.  When to apply depends on your application type, either as a pre-emergent (before seeds germinate) or post emergent application (anytime weeds are actively growing).

You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region or search online for best time to apply in (your area) for weed prevention.  A lot of universities have great articles for this.
