Product Overview

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is a broadleaf weed control product that will kill more than 100 different types of weeds, including the more difficult to kill perennials, like nightshades and bull nettles. Quickly killing the existing weeds and keeping them from coming back, the product also works great with liquid fertilizers and can be safely used around grazing areas of livestock, Conservation Reserve Program land and wildlife management areas. GrazonNext HL Herbicide also comes with no restriction for any kind of livestock, including beef cattle, goats, horses, nursing dairy animals, and sheep and won't harm desirable grasses like bahiagrass, bermudagrass, fescue, orchard and other mixed native grasses. Just follow the directions on the bottom description on what rate of dilution is required to kill your problem weed and your property will be weed free in no time. The product works great with brush control herbicides, like Remedy Ultra, which can be mixed and applied at the same time, massively reducing the time it takes to undertake an integrated vegetation management program.

Only apply this product if the wind direction favors on-target deposition and there are not sensitive areas (including, but not limited to, residential areas, bodies of water, known habitat for nontarget species, nontarget crops) within 250 feet downwind.

This product replaces Forefront HL Herbicide.

Be careful if using for hay or manure from treated fields

    By Gail on 08/05/2019

Be very careful using Aminopyralid. if the cows or horse eat the grass treated or hay treated it passes thru intact. Lost a large part of my tomatoes and potatoes to composted cow manure that contained was contaminated by this. Minute concentrations of picloram, clopyralid and aminopyralid, as low as 1 ppb (parts per billion), can be lethal to sensitive garden plants such as peas, beans, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes. Takes years and years to get cleared from soil. Only good plant to put in affected garden soil is corn.

Test results used on Bahia grass hay.

    By Edward on 06/03/2018

I am testing this product on three types of weeds that are affecting the quality of my hay fields. Our LSU AgCenter agent listed GrazonNext HL as one of the Herbicides used in their test to control "Horsenettle, Johnson Grass, and Pigweed". So far my test are showing control of all three. I plan to treat all fields next year. Thanks for a great product.

Q
Will the GrazonNext HL kill the chufas I have planted?
A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled to control chufa which appears to be in the sedge family.  That being said we would recommend testing over a small area before a full broadcast just to be sure.

Q
Will the manure/compost from animals that have grazed on areas treated with GrazonNext HL Herbicide harm corn?
A

Per the product label for GrazonNext, "Manure from animals that have grazed forage or eaten hay harvested from treated areas within the previous 3 days may only be used on pasture grasses, grass grown for seed, wheat and corn."

New cereals and corn can be planted one year after treatment.

Please refer to the product label for full application instructions and precautions.

Q
Will GrazonNext HL Herbicide kill fruit trees?
A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not directly labeled to kill fruit trees. However, an application could damage them and you would have to discard the fruit for over a year. We would recommend keeping applications outside the dripline of the trees.

Q
Should horses be kept off area sprayed with GrazonNext HL Herbicide for a period of time?
A

There are no restrictions for when you can allow animals to graze on areas treated with GrazonNext Herbicide. We would always recommend waiting for the application to dry completely before allowing animals to re-enter a treated area.

Q
Can I use GrazonNext HL Herbicide in the fence line of a cornfield and not harm the corn from possible drift?
A

As long as you apply on a non windy day to limit drift of GrazonNext HL Herbicide and do not spray the corn directly or allow overspray to contact it, there should not be an issue applying to the fenceline around a corn field.

Q
Will GrazonNext HL Herbicide kill pigweed and not kill brown top millet?
A

GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled for use on millet.  NuFarm Weeder 64 would be a better option for pigweed and other broadleaf weeds and is safe over millet as directed on the product label.

Q
Why is GrazonNext HL Herbicide not allow for sale in AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, ID, ME, MD, MA, MN, MT, NV, NH, NJ, NY, ND?
A

Unfortunately we are not always given an exact reason as to why a product like GrazonNext HL Herbicide is restricted in certain states. Usually it has to do with continual misuse of the product resulting in hazards to streams, lakes, public water systems, etc.  You may contact your states Dept of Agriculture or the manufacturer Dow AgroSciences at 317-337-3000 for more information.
