GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled for the use on food plots.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide should be applied as a coarse, low-pressure spray. Per the product label: Do not apply this product with mist blower systems that delivery very fine spray droplets. Please refer to pages 4-5 of the product label under the section "Application Methods" for complete instructions.
The dilution rates for GrazonNext HL Herbicide will vary depending on the weeds you are targeting and the application site. Please refer to the product label for the appropriate rate for your needs.
The amount of GrazonNext HL Herbicide needed for 30 acres depends on what rate you would like to use. The rates ranges form 1.2 pints -2.1 pints per acre. Please read over the label to find your desired or needed rate.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled to treat leafy spurge or whitetop. The labeled rate for knapweed and gumweed is 24-34 ounces of GrazonNext HL Herbicide per acre.
Grasses/areas may be reseeded in the fall following an application of GrazonNext HL applied in the spring or early summer.
GrazonNext should not be used around desirable crops. Per the GrazonNext HL Herbicide label, you should avoid application under conditions that may allow spray drift because very small quantities of spray, which may not be visible, may seriously injure crops. Susceptible crops include, but are not limited to, cotton, okra, flowers, fruit trees, grapes (in growing stage), fruit trees (foliage), soybeans (vegetative stage), ornamentals, sunflowers, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables, or tobacco. GrazonNext HL provides preemergence control of germinating seeds or emerging seedlings of susceptible weeds and re-growth of certain perennial weeds following application. When to apply depends on your application type, either as a pre-emergent (before seeds germinate) or post emergent application (anytime weeds are actively growing).
Per the product label for GrazonNext HL Herbicide
Preemergence: Grasses may be reseeded in the fall following an application of GrazonNext HL applied in the spring or early summer.
Postemergence: During the season of establishment, GrazonNext HL should be applied only after perennial grasses are well established (have developed a good secondary root system and show good vigor). Most perennial grasses are tolerant to GrazonNext HL at this stage of development. GrazonNext HL may suppress certain established grasses, such as smooth bromegrass (Bromus inermis), especially when plants are stressed by adverse environmental conditions. Plants should recover from this transient suppression with the onset of environmental conditions favorable to grass growth and upon release from weed competition
You would not want to spray the GrazonNext in a way that would allow any spray drift to reach the cotton as it would harm it. Per the GrazonNext Product Label: Susceptible Plants: Do not apply under circumstances where spray drift may occur to food, forage, or other plantings that might be damaged or crops thereof rendered unfit for sale, use or consumption. Small amounts of spray drift that may not be visible may injure susceptible broadleaf plants.
Most herbicides that would effectively control broadleaf weeds would have a chance of negatively impacting cotton. You would need to apply the product on a non windy day, and move at a slow speed with your nozzles closer to the target weeds to reduce the chance of drift to the cotton or other desirable crop areas.
GrazonNext HL Herbicide is not labeled for prickly pear. Prickly pear is very hard to control and we could recommend E-2 Herbicide as a way to treat it.
