    Q
Can I use GrazonNext HL to planted cotton or what would be best?
    A

You would not want to spray the GrazonNext in a way that would allow any spray drift to reach the cotton as it would harm it. Per the GrazonNext Product Label: Susceptible Plants: Do not apply under circumstances where spray drift may occur to food, forage, or other plantings that might be damaged or crops thereof rendered unfit for sale, use or consumption. Susceptible crops include, but are not limited to, cotton, okra, flowers, fruit trees, grapes (in growing stage), fruit trees (foliage), soybeans (vegetative stage), ornamentals, sunflowers, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables, or tobacco. Small amounts of spray drift that may not be visible may injure susceptible broadleaf plants.

Most herbicides that would effectively control broadleaf weeds would have a chance of negatively impacting cotton. You would need to apply the product on a non windy day, and move at a slow speed with your nozzles closer to the target weeds to reduce the chance of drift to the cotton or other desirable crop areas.

    Q
When can I spray GrazonNext HL if I planted bermuda coastal (Texas Tough) in mid April 2018?
It is now the end of June 2018 and looking fairly established
    A

Per the GrazonNext HL Herbicide product label for Seeding grasses:

Preemergence: Grasses may be reseeded in the fall following an application of GrazonNext HL applied in the spring or early summer.

Postemergence: During the season of establishment, GrazonNext HL should be applied only after perennial grasses are well established (have developed a good secondary root system and show good vigor). Most perennial grasses are tolerant to GrazonNext HL at this stage of development.

  • Asked by Randy from Hawarden, Iowa
    06/02/2019
    Q
Can I use GrazonNext HL Herbicide in the fence line of a cornfield and not harm the corn from possible drift?
    A

As long as you apply on a non windy day to limit drift of GrazonNext HL Herbicide and do not spray the corn directly or allow overspray to contact it, there should not be an issue applying to the fenceline around a corn field.

    A

  • Asked by Bernadette from Miller, Sd
    07/08/2021
    Q
Why is the mixed solution of GrazonNext HL Herbicide with water become a milky thick consistency that plugs the screen on the spray tank?
    A

It is common for the mixed solution to turn milky when using herbicides such as GrazonNext HL Herbicide however it should not be plugging the screen in the sprayer. GrazonNext HL has a shelf life of 2-3 years when stored in a cool dry environment and not exposed to extreme heat or freezing temperatures. Be sure you are mixing at the correct rate per the product label

It is recommended to triple rinse your sprayer after each use with plain water to prevent any corrosion, buildup or settlements in the equipment. If you've had your sprayer for some time, it could be a new screen is needed from buildup of other pesticides.

Dow Agro Sciences can be reached at 317-337-3000 for more information.
