I have a desert tortoise and ants. Want to keep the tortoise safe and kill the ants. Please help

I have read conflicting info ref pyrethrum some say safe others say usually mixed with something else that would be toxic to my tortoise. Any suggestions?

Answer:

We recommend contacting your vet for specific advice on what is safe to spray. We are not sure what would be toxic in the tortoises environment and we certainly do not want to recommend anything that could be dangerous.
