I discovered the nest when I ran it over with my lawnmower about 3 weeks ago and they attacked me. When I ran over the nest it was a bit of a raised bit of underdeveloped lawn and I destroyed the entrance to the nest and could not find one. I treated the entire area of underdeveloped lawn with Temprid SC and that seemed to take care of the problem...until tonight. Mowing again and stayed away from the area but they moved into the lawn and when I went over them they attacked again. It is in the lawn so not sure if I will be able to find the entrance or not. What is the best way to treat these and kill them? Is there something that I should just treat the whole lawn with? Or do I need to find the entrance. Oh and the spot where they are now is about 4 feet from my well head. Thanks
If you are able to find the entrance to a nest or to individual holes, then you can dust directly into those areas with Tempo 1% Dust. You will want to use a hand duster to apply the dust for accuracy, being sure to treat in the evening and when the ground is dry. You can also keep a knockdown product like Wasp Freeze on hand to catch wasps that are active when you are there anytime.
