Stewart from Lexington, Ky writes

I have grubs killing my fescue and I've found them in mulch under ornamental bush dripline. Can I use Dylox 6.2 to kill grubs in both areas?

Along with eating my lawn, grubs are apparently feasting on the roots of a young service berry tree and azalea bushes in a mulshed bed here in Kentucky in late August. I also have a koi pond nearby. How far away from pond should I stay. The ground slopes away from the pond, so runoff from lawn and mulched areas to be treated should not be an issue.

Answer:

Dylox 6.2 Granules  should be applied for grubs in the lawn but it is highly toxic to fish. We recommend applying where there is no drift/no sloping and 30+ ft away from any water area. It should not be applied around any edible vegetation also. There are no Dylox restrictions regarding turf species or sites for landscape and recreational-area uses.
