    Q
Which Crossbow product do I use to eradicate all types of thistle?
A particularly nasty thistle (have not been able to identify it) has come up in one of my fields and has become a danger to my livestock. I have tried various other products with no success. I can send a picture of it if it would help. Thanks.

Please contact your local cooperative extension for a proper id and then we can help you select a product that will best fit your needs. Crossbow is labeled for thistle but we are unsure of your turfgrass and the type of thistle you are treating for. Please let us know after you have the identification and we will be happy to assist you.

    Q
Can I use Crossbow this fall without killing the grass to eliminate teasel? How often do I need to spray this area?
A farmer plowed one of my areas but then did not plant it. Before it had tall natural grass growing, but now the area is a mess with lots of teasel and queen anns lace. There is some form of grass growing there too, but in the minority. The field has been mowed the last 2 years with a woods mower, but has not eradicated the teasel at all;in fact its spreading.

Crossbow is a non-selective post-emergent herbicide that can kill anything that is sprayed directly including desired turf grasses. We recommend that you treat the teasel by applying a product that will offer post-emergent control but not harm the lawn. We have AmTide MSM 60 DF which is safe for listed turfs and will eradicate the teasel. Please follow instructions on the product label for your application.
