    Q
Can I mix Miracle grow with Helena Crossbow Herbicide?
I'm spraying my pastures Thursday and I could only find 2 gallons of liquid nitrogen. But I did find miracle grow cheap so I bought 4 boxes. Will it hurt anything. I saw a warning using Npk. What do you think.
    A

Crossbow may be combined with liquid nitrogen fertilizer suitable for foliar application to accomplish weeding and feeding of grass pastures in one operation per the product label. Use Crossbow in accordance with recommendations for grass pastures as given on this label. Use liquid fertilizer at rates recommended by supplier or Extension Service Specialist. Test for mixing compatibility using desired procedure and spray mix proportions in clear glass jar before mixing in spray tank. A compatibility aid such as Unite or Compex may be needed in some situations. Compatibility is best with straight liquid nitrogen fertilizer solutions. Mixing with N-P-K solutions or suspensions may not be satisfactory even with the addition of compatibility aid. Premixing Crossbow* with 1 to 4 parts water may help in difficult situations. Fill the spray tank about half full with the liquid fertilizer, then add the herbicide with agitation and complete filling the tank with fertilizer. Apply immediately and continue agitation in the spray tank during application. Do not store spray mixture. Application during very cold weather (near freezing) is not advisable.

    Q
Can I apply Crossbow with wick applicator
    A

Crossbow  can be applied by all types of sprayers, from hand-held models to tractor-mounted spray rigs. While we don't talk to a lot of customers using that method of application equipment, there is nothing prohibiting the product from being used that way for their direct spot treatment needs.

    Q
Can I use Crossbow this fall without killing the grass to eliminate teasel? How often do I need to spray this area?
A farmer plowed one of my areas but then did not plant it. Before it had tall natural grass growing, but now the area is a mess with lots of teasel and queen anns lace. There is some form of grass growing there too, but in the minority. The field has been mowed the last 2 years with a woods mower, but has not eradicated the teasel at all;in fact its spreading.
    A

Crossbow is a non-selective post-emergent herbicide that can kill anything that is sprayed directly including desired turf grasses. We recommend that you treat the teasel by applying a product that will offer post-emergent control but not harm the lawn. We have AmTide MSM 60 DF which is safe for listed turfs and will eradicate the teasel. Please follow instructions on the product label for your application.

    Q
Can I kill bamboo with Crossbow Herbicide?
    A

Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled for bamboo and likely would not give you any desired results. Bamboo is extremely stubborn, so it can take several steps to remove it completely. You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump and then apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results. You should contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the master gardener on staff to see if you will be required to till your yard or if you can seed and fertilize only.

Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled to be applied to lawns.  Q4 would be a better option that is labeled to control dandelion and can be used on turf areas around sport facilities.  It would be applied at a rate of 2.6 - 3 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. Q
Will Crossbow Herbicide kill sandspurs in bermuda and centipede lawn?
    A

Crossbow Herbicide is not labeled to control sandspur aka sandburs nor for use in home lawns.  This is a summer weed that is actually easier to prevent then to kill once emerged.  We would recommend applying a pre-emergent like Dimension 2-4 weeks ahead of when it germinates.  You can check with your County Extension Offices for the correct timing.
