Product Overview

Hexygon is a proven long lasting miticide, providing consistent residual control for up to 60 days in proper conditions. Hexygon’s unique mode of action provides effective ovicidal and immature stage control. Adult female mites exposed to sprays or foliar deposits of Hexygon will lay non-viable eggs – controlling mite population through life cycle interruption. Hexygon is ideal in an IPM program, compatible with most horticultural pesticides and adjuvants. Use on ornamental plants, as well as nonbearing trees and vines growing in nurseries and greenhouses. Hexygon is also ideal for established ornamental landscape plantings. The granular formulation is easy to measure, mix, and handle with low use rates and minimal PPE required.

Details

Hexygon controls mites through ovicidal, larvicidal, and residual/ovicidal activity. It acts as a temporary reproductive inhibitor on egg laying female mites, and interrupts the development process of mite eggs. Newly deposited eggs are most susceptible, while early nymphal stages are controlled by contact or exposure to Hexygon.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Hexygon Ovicide/Miticide is recommended for use as a foliar application to labeled crops. Hexygon Ovicide/Miticide provides effective control of major spider mite species. It is a 50% dry-flowable formulation to be mixed with a diluent and applied as a spray.

Hexygon controls mites through activity on eggs and immature stages. Control is achieved from either direct contact with the spray or from contact with treated plant surfaces. Through its ovicidal activity, Hexygon controls newly deposited mite eggs and eggs which are laid after application. Hexygon is also highly effective in controlling immature motile stages of target mite species that are sprayed or move onto treated surfaces. Adult mites are not directly affected. However, eggs produced by females in contact with treated surfaces will be rendered inviable. Hexygon provides extended residual control of pest mite species without disrupting beneficial insects and mites. The degree and duration of control is dependent on the rate used, growth stage of the mite, species of mite, and climatic conditions under which the material is applied.

    By Shawn on 10/19/2019

This product did absolutely nothing to the spidermites, I even used a paint sprayer and thoroughly sprayed underside of all leaves, wasted $250!

Has worked for me twice now

    By Gerard on 05/22/2020

Woked excellent over the two times I used it. The only issue is you cannot use it every year. So I'm looking for something else like it to alternate with.

Q
Will Hexygon DF work outside on bird mites?
A
Hexygon DF miticide is intended as a foliar application on crops and plants.  Since it is intended for this purpose it has not been tested on bird mites, and bird mites is not on the label.  Therefore we cannot recommend it for that purpose and we are not sure if it would work.  Our most popular product for bird mites outside is Talstar.
