Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer is not labeled to control buckthorn. It appears that either a product like Crossbow or RoundUp can be used to kill cut stumps. On Ornamental Turf: Use 16 oz. in 1 to 8 gallons of water per 2,725 sq. ft. or 2 gallons in 15 to 50 gallons per acre. Please review the product label for complete usage instructions.
Per the product label for Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer: This pesticide may be toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Drift and runoff may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in water adjacent to treated areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash waters or rinsate.
