    Q
How do I mix Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin for scorpions?
I have been getting scorpions in my home. Several products seem to kill them but not wipe them out. I have just purchased Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin and need to know about best ratio for a gallon of water.
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin  should be mixed at 0.8 fluid ounces per gallon of water. While you could use the Hi-Yield 38 Plus for scorpion control, a better option would be something that sits on the surface better and lasts longer. Cy-Kick CS and Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion spray are the two best options for scorpion control. Both products are easy to mix with water and spray around the home. Not only will they kill scorpions, but will also kill all the other insects present around your home that they are feeding on. Since scorpions have thicker skin, you will need to spray a wider barrier around your home. Spray 2-3 feet up on the side and a minimum of 6 feet out on the ground. Make sure to also spray other entry points of the home like where wires/pipes enter the house, window frames and door frames.

    Q
Can Hi-Yield 38 Plus be used in a dogs kennel if they are not in there at the time of treatment?
    A

Hi Yield Plus Insect Control is only labeled for outdoor use use as on and around ornamentals, lawns, trees, shrubs, vines, etc. This should not be used inside of kennels.

We would recommend using something like Talstar P inside of your kennel for pests. Be sure to remove the pets out of the area until the product has dried completely. It is safe for pets to return to the area after that.

    Q
Does Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control kill fire blight?
My flowering pear tree has fire blight. Will Hi-Yield 38-Plus work for this?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control 38% Permethrin is an insecticide only and will not affect any diseases.  There is a great article here on this disease that recommends liquid copper.  Bonide Liquid Copper Fungicide Concentrate is labeled for fireblight on pear trees, but it does need to be applied as a spray application since a systemic fungicide would not be effective.  You would mix 0.5 to 2.0 fluid ounces of product per gallon of water, and the label states, "for fireblight apply in the dormant period, during season bloom, or as in-season cover spray.  Do not exceed one application during the fall, late dormant period.  Do not exceed one application between silver tip and green tip growth stages....Do not exceed 1 gallon of product per 100 gallons of water.  Repeat application every 7-10 days during bloom and growing season if needed."
