    Q
How do I mix Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin to treat mango trees with termites?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin should only be applied to non-edible trees. It is not labeled for any fruit tree applications.

Termites do not attack live, healthy trees. If the tree has been damaged by termites it would be advisable to remove the tree and perform a liquid termite soil treatment with Termidor SC to ensure subterranean termites to not find a food source inside of your home. Please take a few minutes to read our article How to Perform a Termite Treatment which will explain how to do the treatment in laymens terms and also explain any needed equipment. Most folks find that they only need a 5 gallon bucket and perhaps a drill in some situations. You should follow the Termidor product label and you should mix Termidor with water as specified. No special equipment is needed to diltute Termidor because it is a water based product and readily mixes with water.

  • Asked by Shari from Lexington, Texas

    Q
What is most effective product and treatment against scorpions outside and inside our home?
We currently have a bottle of "High Yield 38 Plus." The Permethrin content is 38%. Since we have this product, do you think it would be effective against scorpions? What other suggestion?
    A
While you could use the Hi Yield 38 Plus for scorpion control, a better option would be something that sits on the surface better and lasts longer. Cy Kick CS and Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion spray are the two best options for scorpion control. Both products are easy to mix with water and spray around the home. Not only will they kill scorpions, but will also kill all the other insects present around your home that they are feeding on. Since scorpions have thicker skin, you will need to spray a wider barrier around your home. Spray 2-3 feet up on the side and a minimum of 6 feet out on the ground. Make sure to also spray other entry points of the home like where wires/pipes enter the house, window frames and door frames.

    Q
Can I spray Hi-Yield 38 Plus on my deer hunting clothes?
And if so, how much would I mix to a 1 gallon spray bottle to equal .05 percent of Permethrin to effectively kill seed ticks which are much worse than chiggers that may be trying to invade my cloths and get to my skin.
    A
Hi-Yield 38 Plus is only labeled for treating the exterior of the structure. It should NOT be applied to any type of clothing or anything that touches the skin for any insect control including ticks.

We do carry Tick Block which contains permethrin that can be used to treat clothing only.
