    Q
Is Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control safe for ground well water?
We live in the country and ground water is our water source. Will the Hi-Yield soak into the ground water making it unsafe to drink or water plants with?

    03/30/2018
    Q
How much Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin do I mix to 25 gals for fire ants?
    A

Per the product label: Mix 1.6 fluid ozs. (3 1/4 Tablespoons) of Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin per 1 gallon of spray solution to make a 0.5% spray emulsion. {1 fluid oz. = 2 Tablespoons (T) = 6 teaspoons (tsp.)}. For large Ant mounds, such as Fire Ant mounds, apply 1-2 gallons of a 0.5% emulsion to each mound area including a 4-foot diameter circle around the mound. Apply to smaller mounds until the mound is completely saturated. Use higher water volume for mounds larger than 12”. For best results treat in early morning or late evening hours, but not in the heat of the day

For broadcasting: Prepare an emulsion by mixing 0.4 to 0.8 fluid ozs. (2 1/2 to 5 teaspoons) of this product in sufficient volume of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft. (approximately 4 to 25 gallons of water). {1 fluid oz. = 2 Tablespoons (T) = 6 teaspoons (tsp.).

  • Asked by Sheryl from Augusta, Georgia

    Q
What is the best way to use Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin, to prevent cockroaches from getting inside the home?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control- 38% Permethrin can be used outdoors only for cockroaches (do not use indoors). According to the product label: Mix 1.6 fl Oz. (3 1/4 Tablespoons) of this product per 1 gallon of spray solution to make a 0.5% spray emulsion. Spray a 6 to 8 foot wide band of soil around the perimeter of the house. Treat the foundation wall to a height of 2 to 3 feet. Use a spray volume of 2 to 10 gallons of 0.5% emulsion per 1,000 square feet. If mulch or debris is present, a higher volume application rate may be needed to ensure adequate coverage. Note: Residual control will vary depending on exposure of the treated area to weathering conditions (temperature, sunlight, moisture). Retreat on a monthly schedule while insects are likely to be active. If you need to treat indoors we recommend our Roach Control Kit Rotation A. This kit comes with all of the necessary products needed to treat an indoor infestation and enough product to use outdoors to stop new roaches from moving in.

  • Asked by Jorge from Alice Tx

    Q
Will Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin kill scorpions?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control - 38% Permethrin is labeled to kill scorpions, but a better option would be something that sits on the surface better and lasts longer. Cy-Kick CS and Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion spray are the two best options for scorpion control. Both products are easy to mix with water and spray around the home. Not only will they kill scorpions, but will also kill the other insects present around your home that they are feeding on. Since scorpions have thicker skin, you will need to spray a wider barrier around your home. Spray 3 feet up on the side and a minimum of 6 feet out on the ground. Make sure to also spray other entry points of the home like where wires/pipes enter the house, window frames and door frames.

    Q
Will Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control be effective on underground yellow jacket nests?
    A

Hi-Yield 38-Plus Insect Control is not labelled for yellow jackets.  Dusting is the most effective way to treat yellow jackets and ground nests, using Tempo 1% Dust or Delta Dust and applying directly to the holes with a bellow hand duster.  You will want to treat in the evening time when they are least active. Please review our DIY Treatment Guide for Wasps, Yellow Jackets and Hornets for more information.
