  • Asked by Sergio from Dallas Tex.
    06/19/2014
    Q
Does Malathion 55% kills fleas and at what percentage?
    A

No, Hi-Yield Malathion 55% is not labeled to kill fleas nor is it labeled to be used in a lawn.

We would recommend the Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit. It comes with two products, an insecticide (Onslaught) and an IGR (insect growth regulator, Martins IGR). If you are treating inside, we would recommend that you vacuum every 14 days to help speed up the flea elimination process. A second application of the insectide may be needed after 14 days.

  • Asked by Luci
    10/26/2016
    Q
How long does the chemical in Hi-Yield 55% Malation Insecticde Spray last?
a house was sprayed inside with malathion several years ago and has sat vacant since.
    A

Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray is generallly used for outdoor home garden use for select pests. Since this is labeled to be used on edibles in a garden the residual of the product is not that long. If the house has sat vacant for several years there would be nothing left behind at this point. You could wash the area/areas with soap and water for your own peace of mind if need be since that is all that is needed when eating things out of a garden once this product is used on them.

    Q
Is Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray good for elm leaf beetle?
Is it long lasting or will it only kill the beetle "on contact" ?
    A

No,  Hi-Yield 55% Malathion Insecticide Spray is not labeled for elm leaf beetle. This is a contact kill for other pests though.

We would recommend using something like Monterey Once A Year Insect Control II. It is labeled for elm leaf beetles and is used once a year around the drip zone of your tree. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per inch of distance around the trunk at breast height.
