You can use another herbicide at the same as using a pre-emergent such as Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension as long as you are following the product labels for what you are using. If you are putting down a post-emergent at the same time as your pre-emergent, then you will want to delay watering-in the pre-emergent for at least a day so that you do not wash away the post-emergent. (The Hi-Yield with Dimension must be watered in to be activated.) Most 2,4-D products will control dandelion, but that active ingredient will not kill nutsedge or poa annua.
